What Happened to the Philosopher's Forum???
Guys, I've enjoyed philosophy for a long time, debates and discussions and so forth. I went to the drop down list in the menu and tried to select the Philosopher's Forum, and there is nothing there! Is there a problem? It had lots of good and intellectual writing there last time I visited (most of it anyway!)

Well we started to disgust religion in it, letting it get out of hand religious beliefs clashing into each other.
Flaming beliefs, then Ryan locket it.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Damn. But what about debates in the past? There is no moderator function that simply allows one to delete posts that are overly emotional, offensive or non-objective?
So is it gone forever or what? I keep thinking about the accumulation of writing on different topics in the past, and what a loss it would be to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Mods can delete overly offensive posts at their leisure yes, but that wasn't the problem. The problem wasn't that the mods couldn't keep up with all the flame posts.
The problem was that the mods were doing it too.
One mod even posted over 500 quotes from the Koran that he felt were reason enoughto condemn Islam, saying "Islam must be stopped."
Seibertron closed the forum because he realized that the forum would never be under control again. And since the ones tasked with controling the forum were allowing, supporting, and taking part in the flame wars, Who can blame him for the conclusion he reached?
Imagine if all the law enforcement officers in Miami started doing drive bys and such. That's basically what the Philosopher's forum was like.

Pretty much what TCB said is what happened. I went back 10 pages in Gen Disc and couldn't find the thread that was talking about it. I prob. just missed it.
Anyway, Seibs said that with the current incorporation of some other TF fansite and the hassle of the poorly moderated Phils forum, that it is currently on hiatus. However, once, he is done moving, and incorporation the other site, he will consider the value of the forum.
The worst part was, the thread created to talk about it's demise was also locked, due to the same BS that caused the whole forum to be locked.
So, according to the magik eightball, "Outlook not good".
