I read somewhere that he is the villain in a Japanese Beast Wars story, or something like that.

- Weapon: Reciprocating Laser Cannon
Not BW villain, Soundblaster was a late G1 villain.
He was made from Soundwave, when he and Blaster wrecked each other to a point where neither of them could be repaired.
Then both of them got new bodies, that could contain two casettes instead of one; Blaster became Twincast, and Soundwave became Soundblaster.
The Galaxy Force Soundblaster is a tribute to G1 Soundblaster.

Soundblast reminds be of Shockblast... weren't they both viscous Transformers??

How do you mean "viscous"?
Shockblast got a really different story. He is really Shockwave, but the Hasbro don't have the copyright to paste his name. It's like by Hot Rod, "Hot Rod" is copyrighted, so the new name is Rodimus; or there's "Autobot Ratchet", "Autobot Jazz", "Decepticon Frenzy"...

Actually Hasbro has gotten the rights to the name Shockwave
back.

Oh, I forgot the Robot Heroes series. But at the time of the alternators and the Energon, he didn't have it, so they must have made a new name.

No, Cybertron Soundblaster is a villain in a new BW manga.
Is there anyone out there who knows what I'm talking about and possible has read the comic?
