A few days ago, I got after one of my students about safety goggles during a lab assignment. This is where I am very serious. I asked them, "Do you want to be blind for the rest of your life?" They shook their head no. I then tell them to put on their goggles. They then ask me, "Tell me, what would Jesus do?" I restrained myself of saying, "That will not work on me." I actually told them, "I know where that line came from." Their jaw dropped. I never knew that a line from a movie would come back at me.

Except that the jocks go to parties, get laid, can handle themselves in social situations, etc., while the typical nerd can't.

I can handle myself fine...and jocks because they get laid end up paying child support from going to the parties.

Nerds have thier own parties forget the brainless jock who can't do algerbra or even program thier DVD-R recorder. Who owns Microsoft? A nerd! Who owns Google? A nerd! Who owns Yahoo! A nerd! Who gives us medical advances? Nerds!
Who makes techology that makes our lives easier? Nerds.
Who got us thouse awesome pictures of the surface of Mars? A whole group of Nerds!
And thouse same nerds will make the world a better place.

This is pretty nerdy. I shop a lot at my local WalMart. It's clean, nearby and reliable. Unfortunately, it is the same qualities for my friends. wheter on my Basketball team or not. They know I like transformers. My friend claims he saw the movie 8 times in theatres, and we always talk about who will be in the next movie at practice. But they don't know I actually collect the toys. There's a fine line between just liking the story, or being totally obsessed like we are. Wow, I ramble, anyways, I think it's really nerdy when I spot someone I know in the checkout line, then run all the way to the next side of the store to make my transaction. Wasted effort.

Seriously though, there's nothing nerdy about doing it, and i dont care who i see in the shops when im buying tf's, i have a good looking missus, plenty of friends, always got someone to go the pub with for a laugh and work in a factory/warehouse, hell, im not a nerd, im not a jock, im me, and if people dont like me, then tough, i couldnt be happier. (well if i still had all my tf's from when i were a nipper i would but thats a different story
