I just looked up g1 powermaster dreadwing and I was wonder what he was supposed to be. Does he also turn into a robot or is it just the two planes dreadwind and darkwing combing to form one super plane.

They are powermasters. The become robots, and can combine together to form a super jet.

And they both transform into planes on their own.

Dreadwing is the combined jet mode of Darkwing and Dreadwind. The separate jets turn into bots and have Powermaster engine partners.

Darkwing ( Hydra ) and Dreadwing ( Buster ) has the ability to gattai into a superjet indeed. Or as they called the combination in Choujin Masterforce 'Darkwings'. Really awesome.

When combined, they gain the power of increased of.....heck if I know, but it would've been cooler if they combined into a giant robot instead.
