Did you guys hear about the owner of the company that manufactured those toys? Apparently he hanged himself... That's pretty harsh. :-( But why would he do such a thing? Couldn't they just change the formula and carry on with business? Unless there's some sort of penalty for something like that.
Um... read this link Ex-Head of China FDA Sentenced To Death I'm not sure returning to buisness as usual would have been and option for him.

Ah, yeah. I guess that would not be an option.

Wow, China is the scariest thing since... well, the USSR. :P

Not a prob, MISB collector so unless it explodes while in the box... should be ok. This actually happened w/the SW Ep 1 Darth Maul lightsabers back in 2001 was it? Whatever no problems unless batteries are added, so I say remove em. :P

recall

Postby saintsfan1983 » Thu Aug 16, 2007 7:39 am

I don't think I would return them. I would make sure my son couldn't get to them though. Which I already make sure he can't get to the ones I cherish.
What Transformer are you? (Movie)

My Results:

Ironhide

You are the weapon specialist. You are probably the only Autobot who doesn't give a crud about the humans and repeatedly asks permission to blow something up. You are very strong and big as well as always suggesting the BIGGER sort of weapon. You are also good at sports; mostly contact sports. You can be easily irritated and may have anger issues. You also have a huge truck mode. Sweet.

Weapon: Thermal Melters
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lead...Just the thought of licking my figures make me go all goose bumpy :P

I keep mine MISB/MOSC so no worries for me.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Well, I was wrong. So was Toyotus Superion....

toyotus Superion wrote:Seriously though, lead poisoning mostly affects kids because they have developing nervous systems and their skin easily absorbs the lead.

Here's why:

Time Magazine: Troubles In The Toy Chest wrote:2. Is a child who has played with these toys in immediate danger?

No. Lead paint and loose magnets are potentially serious dangers, but there's no need to panic if your child has been playing with a toy that's part of the recall.

Lead can't be inhaled or absorbed through the skin, so a child would have to chew the paint off a toy and eat a significant amount of it before getting sick. "That's not easy to do," says Dr. Michael Shannon, an emergency physician and the director of the lead poisoning treatment program at Children's Hospital Boston. "But the risk is not zero, and if parents do have a toy that contains lead, then they would want to remove it, so their child doesn't have that risk."

those of you that watch mythbusters also know this from when they wanted to recreate the woman from "the man with the golden gun" and covered someone in gold paint, with no ill effects whatsoever.
