Who do I need to beg to get ********** re-issued?

Postby Cybertronian » Mon Jul 16, 2007 5:39 am

In short I really want to see (1989) THUNDERWING, re-issued (preferably with the decals printed on better paper). I wrote Takara about Smokescreen back in 2002 -- in English no less (and later saw Smokescreen re-issued; no blue Bluestreak though), but who do I need to beg to see a 5,000-10,000 unit reissue of Thunderwing?
(I'll even tolerate the comics' color scheme.)

That's very generous of you.

and StarSabre demands a reissue.

I refuse to buy one from some guy in SE Asia where everyone and their infant children smoke, thus making him a variant yellow StarSabre.

I don't believe we've seen any Pretenders reissued.

It's my fault I have 3. One loose, and two MISB (one is Takara the other is the vintage 'Classic' version).

It would just be nice if the re-issued any vintage TFs that are not among the core group that have been re-issued quite recently (looks at Takara's Encore line--Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, and Optimus Prime--gee we haven't had any of these lately).

I'm up for whatever. Seeing as the Dinobots are out, I say they try to hit a homerun a different way and go for Grand Fortress Maximus (he does have a pretender shell for Cerebros).

I'd love to see a Sixshot or Omega Supreme reissue. I missed them the first time around.

You missed Sixshot twice...he was re-issued in Japan early on, not recently, but in the 90's.

Omega would be cool.

Artfire would be easy for them, as they have already produced Inferno recently, the others would take some work, even Takara has not re-issued them recently.

That, and since Stepper has Cyclonus' Targetmaster weapon, at least we know that part of his mold is still around.

...We could get more awesome E-Hobby goodness too! *mmm repainted Scourge and Cyclonus*

Crosshairs was one of my favourite toys ever, and I wouldn't mind the chance to get him again.

I know how you feel, but they should try to do what they did with TM Hot Rod(imus) and TM Kup -- give us some version of both the original (weapons and variants) and TM weapons.

With Scourge, I'd like to see him with his blue painted wings, and 3-part disintegrator ray. (There's very little difference in the size of original and TM Scourge's head hole. A bit of play wear will make a TM weapon fit on the original's head.) If a "sweep" was made, it should be a mass-released "common" version with the decaled wings.
With Cyclonus, I just want to see a Targetmaster version of the bluish-violet, blue-painted details variant.
All I can ask for with Blurr is his original colors and the original V-shaped fender stripes.

I also third the Springer nomination.

Even though I KNOW it'll never happen do to copyright bullsh*t, I would sell my left nut for a Shockwave reissue. I'm just not crazy enough for toys to spend $200+ on an original in C65 condition.

You have to shop around, but you will routinely find decent Shockwaves (C8 and up) for around $100.

I got one for $65 about a year and a half ago. I caught the auction like 15 minutes after it went up. The figure is probably C8+ and only that low because the tube has cracks (no breaks).

Keep the faith on that one.
