My whole collecting focus is G1 homages, so this is a bit of a tough question. I used to group them by character too and it looked really awesome, I just don't have the space for that anymore.

But, when it comes down to sheer numbers, Optimus Prime takes the cake for obvious reasons. He was my childhood hero and favorite... well, any toy, for that matter.

After that, probably Soundwave & Starscream, in terms of 'OH DAMN I WANT IT'.

Funny, because I always considered myself an Autobot guy.

Seekers. If it looks like a Seeker or is classified as a Seeker, I'll buy it. For a time there, I fanoned basically any Decepticon jet into the Seeker ranks, as well as any Decepticon jet figure that had a Seeker name. The name thing stopped with the hideous ROTF Dirge p.o.s. and the jet mode thing kind of still holds true for me.

Character wise, Starscream. I even got the Starscream Kre-o set and I own Starscream busts and statues despite seeing no point in non-transforming Transformers.
