Does anyone remember that thread that showed up a long time ago, when ROTF first began filming? Someone posted an updated version of the Bay's Touch music video that *somehow* included a brief glimpse of one of Arcee's bikes (the purple one). A user named "lininguptv" vouched for the image's authenticity, but nobody believed him (in retrospect we now know he was telling the truth, but the news crew had no reason to actually believe it at the time). He also said he had a photo (from a cell phone) of the rest of Arcee's design sheet, which the staff asked to see merely - not to post, but merely as a way to corroborate the bike image - but we were never giving anything to go on.

The thread in question was lost after the board crash, so I can't find the quotes I'm looking for. But I always wondered why the rest of the Arcee image was never posted. Lininguptv was mad at fans for not believing him the first time, but now that we know the image is legit, we've never heard anything else about it. He could have even cleared up the whole "Arcee combining" thing months before we heard any sort of "confirmation" - even if that was from an anonymous source as well - but he never did. It sounds so strange to claim to be this great internet source for finding and leaking juicy information on hot movies, only to not leak anything when you actually have something interesting.

Just something that's been in the back of my mind for awhile, I've been doing some detective work to try to learn more about the image, but I keep coming up empty-handed.

To be fair, a contact Ryan had/has on the set of the movie has said that lininguptv was actually wrong on pretty much every account.

Yes, except Ryan's contact has been wrong on several fronts as well - and pictures don't lie. believe it or not, the image Lininguptv has of the Arcee bike is the same bike that we see Michael bay filming in the Wal-Mart video, it's not a stretch to think that the rest of the image is authentic as well...

The difference being that lininguptv has already posted an image that has been proven to be legit. If you say you have a full picture of a bot design, I probably wouldn't believe you, until you posted a photo of something that eventually turned out to be real, then I'd be more inclined to believe you...

I am not trying to get in between the two of you, but if you have the picture why would you not post it?

I think if someone claims to have a picture, but won't let anyone see it, that they don't actually have the picture.

I remember that thread VIVIDLY. that poor guy was flamed hard. I remember tell him/her not to worry about others opinions and he didn't have to prove anything. The thread has been totally wipe off of the forum!!!! The entire thread, like it never existed!! I had about 4 post in that thread and none are in my post history. hmmmmmmmm. Skowl Im surprised you would even bring it up, If I remember correctly you were one of the ones giving the poster a hard time. They didn't stick around probably due to how they were treated. Its all good. We know what RC will be so all is well.

No one was getting flamed. Lininguptv was just getting pissed because he made a bunch of claims that he didn't want to back up, and we didn't believe any of them.

Never expect anyone to take anything at face value, if you can't back it up.

The whole situation back then was a crying shame to read....

As far as i can remember he wasn't treated with much respect.

As for the second pic..... if he did, he did... if he didn't then he doesn't. i've got no reason to disbelieve his claims now that his Arcee claim looks to be legit

He didn't have to back up a damn thing. That was and IS my point. The Dude signed up said he knew something and got FLAMED!!! Why is the thread deleted? I guess the witch hunt continues.

The thread wasn't deleted, there was a big board crash a month or so ago, and many posts were lost.

And yes, he did have to back it up if he wanted people to believe him. He refused, and he got angry. He wasn't flamed, but his own outrage at our failure to take him at face value made anyone who asked for proof that his information was legit look like he was.

"Salty posters?" Never heard that one before. I have heard that any unconfirmed information should be taken with a grain of salt, but I've never heard it in regards to people.
