Would we see Hasbro dumping toys for the franchise altogether in the future?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

Would we see Hasbro dumping toys for the franchise altogether in the future?

I'm not sure if the toy section of the site is the right one to make this kind of thread or not but I figured since it deals with toys it might at least a little. Since we're seeing the rise of apps and games over the years and kids not being into physical toys as much as they used to be anymore, not to mention the resources to make plastic is getting scarce would Hasbro go as far as to dump physical toys altogether to make digital and gaming items for the franchise only in the future? I know that it sounds like a case of "the sky is falling!" but still I can't help but wonder if that's what Hasbro will do.

I sort of hope not because while I have nothing against what we're having now with the digital stuff there are some things you can't replace physical toys with.

I'd say no. Part of the appeal of Transformers is being able to transform it with your own two hands. No digital medium can replace that experience. Besides, the physical and the digital go hand-in-hand: when there's one medium, the other soon follows, no exception.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Digital can NEVER replace the joy of manhandling a transformable product.
