I've had these guys sitting on my hard drive for months - I finally got round to finishing the colouring.

Glad you like them
They were designed for a contest inspired by the fact that the DW Micros had contemporary Terran altmodes even back then when they couldn't possibly have had them (although the story was going to explain why, evidently).

Once his chest has swung up there's hardly any torso left - his legs pivot upwards in a similar manner to the minicon, Makeshift or Cybertron Scattorshot's (I used a little artistic licence - a toy of this design would have big hollows down the inside of his lower leg for his uppre leg to slot into during transformation) finishing up as a boxlike part of the fuselage behind the missile launcher.

actually they could have existed in pre-micromaster bodies since the micromasters were supposed to be transformers who volunteered to downgrade their size to conserve energon reserves

Nope - the Micromasters comic made it clear only a handful of them came that route (Bombshock, Countdown and Groundshaker were the only ones specifically mentioned I think) - most of them were newly constructed TFs who had always been that size.
