Or, how about Cody hop inside any of the Bots, have them all let go of the dock, sink to the bottom of the water, and either walk or drive back to shore from below since they've done that before?

I would wonder who would be crazy enough to fly a helicopter in bad weather like that - even the Coast Guard hates doing that. Besides, Blades is already acrophobic - not to mention he panicks at the slightest things sometimes.

Depending on how far from shore they get, one wonders how long the oxygen supply would last in that cabin.
Then again, thinking straight during a disaster's not usually something that happens in TV shows - or real life.
