Ptitvite's Classics Blaster

Postby ptitvite » Fri Nov 30, 2007 9:01 pm

Title speaks for itself!
Head from action master Blaster
Body of course from tit soundwave.
Extra parts form KO Kabaya Blaster kit.
Images look like ****...I need sunlight to take great pics as I don't have good interior lighting.
Anyways, enjoy!

Looks pretty good. Those thighs are from a Classics seeker, aren't they?

Thanks
:D Yep, it's basically the same recipe I did with Soundwave except that I added a rotating waist...And I should do that to Soundwave soon as
my Devastator is complete.

Neat Blaster. Much better than my half finished attempt (must read other posts before making a prat of my self).

Did the head fit right away or did you have to grind down the metal on the chest. I thought Titanium Soundwave's head was a little too narrow to have an AM head swap? (Scampers off to read post on Tit' Soundwave)

Well, I trimmed the sides of the AM head as much as it was possible.
Then I dremeled 2mm on both sides of the diecast to let the head go inside.

There has got to be a way to add a fold out flap to cover the thighs in Radio mode. Other then those sticking out this things is perfect. I've got the same model kit, wish I'd ever found a TiT Soundwave.

That Blaster is pretty nice. The smaller scale suits him pretty well. I'm not crazy about the robot thighs showing in the alt mode as was the case with Soundwave, but they're not too bad. I would change the buttons on Blaster though just to make him a little more different from Soundwave.

Thanks
Everytime I post something new, I wait for your reply!
Yes, the same problems applied to Blaster as Soundwave...The diecast makes it a bit harder to modify. The alt mode suffers from it but I can live with it.
I had the first idea to take the kabaya kit radio (play/stop...) buttons but the ones on tit soundwave are part of the torso...made of diecast so I did'nt risk it.

If you don't to risk it then it's okay. I however have cut metal for several of my customs. Wearing goggles will protect your eyes but you can still get metal slivers in your hands. That's very rare though.

Anyhow, I've used a jeweler's saw to cut through metal and I've used a metal cut-off tool with my Dremel for the same purpose. For sanding metal, I just use the standard sanding drums. It's really quite easy and you can still glue things to metal the same way you'd do with plastic.
