Questions about ROTF Prime and Jetfire combination instructions
Questions about ROTF Prime and Jetfire combination instructions

1. Is it normal for ROTF Optimus Prime not to include any instructions for his combination with Jetfire. I know they've done this on other Primes but that's normally when the character(s) he combines with havn't been introduced yet on the show. These guys were introduced at the same time so I was kinda exspecting to end up with 2 copies of their combination instructions, one for each figure.
2. Does Jetfire come with the instructions for their combined mode?
3. There are a couple things I've noticed on ROTF Prime that seem to have nothing at all to do with his own transformation. I've noticed stuff like this before on Transformers where there are parts that seem to have no real purpus but I was wandering if some of these are to accomidate Jetfire. One is near his trailer rigging there are two slots that looks like something should be pegged into them but nothing does. The other is that the top section of his smoke stacks are on a rotateing hinge yet they stay in the same position in both modes. I don't see any reason why they should be able to move except maybe to get out of the way of the shoulder armor created from Jetfire.
So yeah, that's all my questions. I'm sure the third one will be answered when I actully get Jetfire but I'm more concerned with the first two sence I was exspecting the combineing instructions and didn't get any I'm a little worried I'll have to track them down seperatly.

3. I'm not sure what slots you're talking about and I can't go and look at my Prime right now but there are some things that only serve to clip him to JF, such as a hole under his groin(!) and a pair of connectors on his back. Likewise JF has some features that only serve to connect him to Prime. The pivoting chimneys are useful when combined as sometimes they get in the way of the shoulder armour.
The strange this is, 07 leader Prime has some pegs on the back of his legs that serve no purpose whatsoever. All they do is restrict his knees.

I'm not sure what pegs you're talking about. I'd have to go look at him.
and BTW I got ROTF Prime so I could have the combined mode with Jetfire so I would consider selling the older version for the right price.

So I just went and grabbed my old Movie Prime and sence the back of his legs are visable under the rig in vehicle mode I didn't even have to transform him to see the pegs you were talking about. I don't think they're actual pegs though. I think they're just robot kibble simular to the equilly useuless pegs on the top of Bumblebee's feet. If you look at ROTF Prime as I just did there is circular molding on the back of his legs where thoughs pegs are on the first one which on the new one looks more like a design feature and less like completly useless pegs.

Oh yeah. Well spotted! Great, so that explains why they're on 07Prime, now someone please explain why the guy who designed it didn't think it through properly!

For the time being I've decided to keep Jetfire in robot mode as that seems to provide the least stress on his rubber parts. And I'm still open to any ideas on how to make them last.

There are two rubber parts to him that so far don't appear to be of any use in vehicle or robot but being made of soft rubber and where they're currently placed in vehicle mode I'm largely concerned about them breaking in the future. RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus used the same material for their tires and to put it simply I can't touch either of them anymore because there's nothing holding their tires on. And thoughs guys don't have any parts smashing down on them that could of caused the breaking of their tires but Jetfire has two rubber... I don't know what to call them... that while in vehicle mode are being crushed under his legs. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and has any ideas to try and prevent these parts from breaking please let me know.

Can you be more specific? The only rubber I'm aware of is:
-tip of thrusters
-tip of nosecone
-beard and things on side of face (sideburns?)
-belt for attaching him to Prime that hang down JFs back in bot mode
I figure you're talking about the belt. I can't suggest anything to help with this as rubber perishes eventually. Maybe in 10 years you'll need to replace them with elastic bands or knicker elastic!

I would of if I knew what to call them but I wasn't sure what they were ment to be at the time I wrote that. Anyway what I was refering to was...
