Its a Transformers commercial indirectly taking a jab at the Gobots at the end you can hear the narrater saying theses are the real transformers
Megatron and Prime also speak in this commercial also
I found it with a collage of other 80's commercials belive it or not this is a commercial brake from the Gobots youi can see the bimpers for it The Transformers commercial is about 2 minutes 12 seconds in this 4:47 minute video

I believe the same, as well as to show how to avoid knockoffs by looking for the rub symbols.

Not so much as Gobots, since they were not knockoffs. More of them telling us to differentiate the TF knockoff's from the real ones by looking for the rub symbols.

To us its easy to see one package says Transformers and one says Gobots
But to parents it's all the same
I went to see Transformers the movie in a theater when it first came out and I could here a father talking to his son a few seats down asking him if these were the Gobots

Plus they're not made of bad construction, they're pretty solid. Sure scooter was/is a huge dork, but times were different then.

Woot!
Plus the toys were more 'show accurate' than the G1's were.
My favorite Gobot ep was "Invasion from the 21st level"

The G1 cartoon came out after the toys and if you look at both The Gobots had basic looks to them then

It all evened out. Why does everybody give those poor Go Bots Hell?

What you saw on the gobots show, 9 times out of ten, with the execption of Leader-1 and maybe Crasher, was what you got in the toy form.
And I myself liked the show. Yes, a few episodes were not that hot, like Time Wars of Cy-Kills Shrink ray, but G1 had quite a few stinkers themselves.
It seems that, with a few exceptions, Gobots are more accepted and liked by younger viewers, while the older ones are not.

As were Bumblebee's, Ironhide's, Ratchet's, Trailbreaker's, Tracks', Galvatron's, Brawn's, Astrotrain's, Superion's, The Headmasters, Sandstorm's, Swindel and Brawl's entire show bodies....
And those are the one's I can think of off the top of my head at this moment.
