What does re-issue mean for figure? Remade? Is it bad if I buy resissue figures? I'm just confused.

Re-issue does meen re-made or reproduced! But I dont think its bad to buy them when you factor in the cost of buying the first issue's from back in 1984 and how hard it is to find them 100% compleate!Althou there are some safty changes done to the U.S. Re-issues so try to buy the Takara Re-issues when you can!

Reissues are officially reproduced replicas of the original toys, in the case of G1 they are very high quality and contain diecast metal. Its like getting youself a bit of the eighties brand new (if you buy it brand new).
some may differ slightly to conform to modern safety laws like for example the G1 Optimus prime Reissue has short smokestacks to avoid injury to children.
I'm a fan of the Original G1 TF series and mainly got into collecting because of the nostalgia and you can't get better than owning a brand new version of a toy you used to play with as a child.
To me Reissues are gold

Re-issue, means they took an old 1980's mould (or basis for a toy) and put it back in production to release figures based upon it.
For all purposes, re-issues are the same figure from the 80's, with some slight toy safety modifications.
Although Japanese re-issues are a little more expensive, they are a lot less expensive than MISB 1980's originals.

I can very much identify with exactly what you've said. I love re-issues.
