That dude is way after my time.. I had stepped away and was only visiting this site once every couple months.

Yeah I was keeping things civil. I have some more choice words I'd like to use to describe him, most consisting of four letters. He will not be missed.

And I was at my old job while posting.. I could do a lot while the machines were cycling through their programs..
This was the first forum I'd joined, and I got so excited I spent to much time on it and not enough studying, so I kept getting grounded at one point. When I got back, several of the people I'd come to be freinds with were gone..Contributed to me being a very on and off member.
That's pretty much my story with this forum too - although I never got grounded.
I do miss the days when every time you'd refresh the main forum page after an hour or so there'd been a couple dozen new topics and replies spread across the different forums, though. I guess it's something that has affected nearly every forum, with the advent of Facebook and other social media. But I still think a forum like this is a far better place to have in-depth discussions about things you're passionate about. I also think the atmosphere here has generally been much more relaxed and welcoming than the major Transformers groups on Facebook. For some reason people just really seem to enjoy acting like jerks for no reason on modern social media.
In spite of the flame wars and fights that went hand in hand with much of our userbase still being relatively young at the time, and the handful of elitist wang rods, I always felt the kind and welcoming people far outweighed the more elitist or toxic ones on Seibertron. And while until recently my post-2007 visits were sporadic at best, I still consider this my home on the internet more than any other forum out there. Do miss a lot of the old-timers that are no longer here, though.
On that note - anyone know whatever happened to Abrogate? Seemed like he just fell off the radar sometime around the mid-00s.

There is another name I have not heard in ages, If I remember correctly he was another victim of the STFU bunch that got harassed and left (Terrorscream was a part of that I believe). Seibs was also my first forum as I joined when I was 32... F**k I am old

I'll say. When the Ark crash landed you were just wrapping up middle school.
Tbf, we're all getting old. I've kept my hair dyed for the past couple of years because I don't even want to know if any of my hair is going grey yet.

I remember her well, both of them actually. I remember there was a bunch of female posters that got fed up with the non tolerance of their Transformers artwork here and started their own forum. It was odd seeing some of the artwork and what it depicted Transformers doing to each other.
Anyone Remember Rainbow Starscream? I still see her on Instagram from time to time and she might still be active here.

But anyway, I was reminded of some more old names and events/discussions. Some more people I remember having fun with include Quake, Captain America (think he got in some heated political discussions at one point), Duckietron, Heavy B, (still active in HMW but doesn't seem to have posted) Dark Willow, Philcom.... There was someone who was active in the old buildings that had a both a hand drawn avatar and signiture....
And wasn't there someone going by the handle Trigun?
Anyone else remember the parody fanfics where Locust or Shadowman would take posters from the site and put them in place of the characters from a movie or tv show or what have you?

Wow this takes me back! For better or worse, I grew up on these forums and certainly had a lot of fun (I apologize if that was at anyone else's expense). With the current cesspool that is social media I honestly don't mind the forums era; even if that may have gotten me into conflict with Uncle Burn or Uncle CB
Seriously though, hope you guys are doing well. Deluxes were under $10 when I joined. Dear God.

It's interesting that you prefer forums over social media, given Twitter's reputation of being the biggest of cesspool's, I actually find myself enjoying interacting with the TF community there over here. It's less judgemental and more accepting of opinions.

Most major forums have their friendly people too, and that is also true with major social media sites like: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, and etc. It's just a matter of finding people on those site that you like and want to hang out with.
Now I like Twitter up to a point but I do find having a long nuanced discussion about almost anything there to be hard due to character limit per tweet and then having to create thread there of tweets I remember someone had to post 17 tweet thread to make their point. When on a forum they could have made that same point in a single post. For me personally it's also hard to read those like Twitter threads for some reason.

NOW you're bringing up ancient history!
I remember 20 years ago I had a job where I worked 12 hour night shifts, and on my nights off I would still sleep during the day to keep in routine, and at night I would watch a lot of TV and movies and spend hours on these boards. Most posters in the West were asleep, so my interactions were with mainly Brits and Aussies/Kiwis. You know who you are.

You can ask.
There only a few who still remember the fight between the MPA the nTo, that actually got the General Discussion forum closed down for a while and while I'm one of them and the founder of the New Transformers Order so I can only offer my side of the conflict.
This was back in 2001/2002 so forgive me if there are some gaps in my memory.
The Metroplex Protection Agency (the MPA) was a group of posters that thought there were way too many spammers and newbies and were basically harassing people by acting like professional wrestlers. Some people myself included got annoyed by this and finally I decided to create the New Transformers Order (the nTo) to fight back unfortunately I was new to internet culture and it blew up into a massive flame war that pissed A LOT of people off so bad that Ryan (aka Seibertron) closed the general discussions forum and declared that all such factions that weren't part of the RPG forum and that anyone having an nTo or MPA mention in their username or sig would be banned. I pushed my luck and started an nTo 2.0 thread on Valentine's Day the following year and I got banned for a week and I then decided to go into a self-imposed exile for a few years. I finally found a home for the nTo when I got control of a fantasy wrestling e-fed called X-WCW and even worked a storyline where the nTo and the MPA finally had their final battle.
When I came back when the STFU were running wild and I left again because I knew how that story would end and didn't want to be a part of that **** show. Once they were gone I came back then things got weird and now generally just come and go.
This is the first message board I ever joined back in August of 2001 (so yeah I'm a geezer) sometimes it's for quick hi and bye and other times it's for longer engagements.
I also miss: MEGATRON. He was a funny guy.

Why couldn't old school Seibertron have that...
*flashes back to 2003-2005* oh right. Would be fun to revist some of the sillier bits though.
And why do these discussions always drag up STFU back up? Every time we make a nostalgia thread, their one of the main topics.
Another old poster I just remembered, Beachcomber. Did he change his name?
