I remember that too, but I thought that that deal only pertained to those designs and figures based on the designs that were used in the actual movie, and that any figure created outside of the movie or video game, was not subject to the rights and payment to Paramount..

and if I am, then that is such a bummer.. cause this is one toy that could be repainted over and over and over again with a guarantee from me to buy..

Oh man, just imagine a black, gray and silver version!!

All of the Movie figures have the Paramount logo on the package somewhere because they invested in the entire line not just the characters used in the movie. I highly doubt we will ever see Movie mold outside of Movie lines.

Now that is a complete waste of plastic!! and a complete waste of a figures mold.. Hasbro could do it, if they wanted to.. only they would have to share a bit o profit with paramount.. come on hasbro, just 1 or 3 figures.. that's all..

Paramounts investment was 50% percent or higher. We're not talking pennies on the dollar, we're talking dollars on the dollar. Paramount was in for the molds and production cost, manufacturing, packaging, distribution and 100% of the advertising! Hell at this point, it would be cheaper for Paramount to use the figures without Hasbro than the other way around! For Hasbro to just "share a bit o profit with paramount" would mean sales totals automatically do not recoup investment and maximum profits are still negative. To do that would lose them money intentionally. It is never going to happen!

Agreed, why else do you think they're able to pump out more figs than Universe and Animated combined?

Anyways, we're all straying off topic here. Let's get back to talking about future TF Ideas. I've heard rumblings that Fun Pub is looking into a Glow-in-the-dark set. Thoughts?

Looking at the extend and amount of advertisement Paramount puts into the movie and the toyline over here - taht'S utter bullshit!
If they had invested so much in all of it, the toys wouldn't bee hidden in the far corners of toy stores with just enough display space for two Voyagers next to each other. The trailers and toy adverts would be shown on TV at prime time slots and not be shown once a day at midnight on MTV (Movie) actually I haven't even seen a ROTF toy advert yet.
Movie poster wise it's still the Fallen teaser poster and two cardboard stands, which is more then the first had.

Seriously???

If so, I would hope that their plans are more along the lines of glowing accents, (eyes, highlights on weapons)rather than a whole out glowing unit.

Unless they could do a Sunstorm that looks normal in regular light, that could 5 kinds of awesome.

What TV are you watching? They're running ROTF commercials twice an hour at least on the HISTORY CHANNEL! I have yet to walk in to a store that sells toy that doesn't have them on at least one endcap and eight feet of solid shelf space in the aisle! Walmart has an endcap, two pallets and 10 feet of aisle space. The three local TRUs have that entire front display set up, 25% of the aisle and numerious end caps and rolling stands full.

Glow in the dark? Maybe, but I don't think it would turn out as well as they hope. Black light accents would work much better. The real question is who would it work for? Glow purple for Skywarps teleporting, blue for Miragres invisability, Starscream's Ghost, Sunstorm, maybe Ravage? A glowing pink and purple Reformatting Megatron?

That would be hard to pull off as a Botcon set but each would still kick so much ass as Club exclusives!

Big chains, TRU has a bigger space then all of them and now that I think of it, TRU does devote maybe 1/3 of a shelf to TFs while the rest if for Star Wars. but it's still true for Müller, Karstadt and Honer.

Well, I feel like a tool. I was talking about ROTF advertising, as in Movie commercials. I didn't even know the toys had commecials. I don't watch kids networks. Plus I forgot that you aren't in the US. Where I live, we're swimming in them!

well I think you guys both hit on a great Idea.. I would love to see a clearish blueish skywarp that glows in the dark.. that would be a cool, they could call it teleport Skywarp!

That figures. They could make all the exclusives they want out of these molds and it wouldn't bother me at all, since I loathe the movie figures. So naturally, they can't/won't make any exclusives out of them.
