Have you ever repurposed one of your TFs?

I use my HFTD Terradive as a Classics Hooligan.

We all do, though some of us just rename them. Most of mine are for my Universe 2003 shelf, as it's a gigantic crossover. A few examples:

- Cybertron Jungle Planet Optimus Prime as Universe BW Optimus Primal (2nd body)
- Cybertron Jungle Planet Megatron as Universe BW Megatron
- Armada Powerlinx Thrust (red) as Universe G1 Thrust
- RtS BiS Rodimus as G1 Rodimus... which he still is, but after the Maximal Upgrade and as a Matrix Templar

And a few of my planned repurposings, as soon as I get them:

- Cybertron Deluxe Optimus Prime as Roller (to go with Galaxy Force Optimus Prime)
- Universe 2003 Inferno as Universe G1 Red Alert
- Fox Kids Transmetal Cheetor as Cataclysm (one of Shokaract's heralds)
- Energon SWAT Prowl as Stakeout

i do it as well. i know someone here did it with shattered glass. and it was a very impressive and big SG collection. i think it was one of the mods. but i use 2007 real gear booster as classics laserbeak. and i use the cybertron jungle planet primal and megatron as BWs figures.

Not once. What's on the box is what it is for me. I almost feel perverted for putting HFTD Seaspray with the classics. Almost.

i cant bring myself to do that XD to me its movie like. and i dont like chicken legs im my classics.

I'm with you on the Chicken Legs, but I had to have someone as a place holder until we get a better representation.

I repurpose guys all the time actually.

Energon Roadblock is my G1 Hauler
Energon Sharkticon is my G1 Finback, etc. Definitely with the Energon/Cybertron molds. Not so much with the Armada guys though.

I don't repurpose in the same sense that most people do. The way I repurpose involves moving certain characters from one "generation" to another, but still keeping them as the same character. Here are some examples:

Universe 2.0 Blades (based on the Cybertron Evac mold) is on my Cybertron shelf. He's still Blades, but his aesthetics work better in the Cybertron line.

Botcon Bonzaitron is on my Energon shelf. He's still Bonzaitron, but just part of the Energon universe.

Botcon Clench and Rapido are on my G2 shelf (along with Generations Laser Prime). They just don't fit in with the G1 oriented Classics figures, but work nicely on my G2 display.

Classics Dinobot and Classics Hotshot are on the Beast Wars and Armada shelves respectively (I don't consider them part of the Classics line).

Universe 1.0 Devastator (the one that uses the Landfill mold) is on my RID Shelf. He's still Devastator, but just part of the RID universe.

Those are just some examples that I have. I like for my figures who all have a particular aesthetic quality to all occupy the same Universe. I love my Botcon Skybyte to death, but he'll never fit in with my RID shelf (especially since I have the original Skybyte). That's why he's on the Energon shelf.

-ROTF Lockdown as Classics Lockdow (I might end up putting him with Movie if he fits better there, though; he could really go anywhere)
-DOTM Skyhammer as Classics Whirl
-HFTD Breacher as Classics Roller
-ROTF Bludgeon as Classics Bludgeon
-I'm calling HFTD Payload Longhaul, since I don't have ROTF Longhaul and like his name better
-I may use WFC Prime as Classics Orion Pax or Optronix
-I'm also thinking about using ROTF Brawn as Classics Brawn (I'm not sure whether to put him with Classics or Movie)
-I'm planning to put all of the Prime toys I get with my Classics; some will just be their own characters, like Bulkhead, while others will be used as G1 characters; for instance, I'll use Cliffjumper as Windcharger
-I'm considering turning DOTM Deluxe Soundwave into an Autobot and using the G1 repaint we're probably getting (assuming there's a continuation of the Movie line after DOTM) as my Movie Soundwave since his vehicle mode looks too heroic in silver

I'd say I do a lot of this that you do. Not so much Repurpose.....but cross the line back and forth.

ROTF Bludgen for either or
ROTF Brawn for both....
RTS Fallback for both
RTS Mindset either or.....etc, etc, etc
A lot of the RTS could go either or...... I'm just not buying two of them by any means.

If it wasn't for his godawfull rubber sword, Bludgeon would A) be in my collection and B) right there with Seaspray.

Its really not all that bad... If you own drift and can live with it, i suggest you by budgeon. :lol:

I do it, but generally only with duplicates or things that aren't the right colour.

Yea, so far I do cross lines but they still kept their name with very few exception. And since I do majority on the classics line, so from other lines to support this are:

DOTM HAB Backfire, Tailpipe, Whirl as Targetmasters for additional weapons
DOTM Voyager Shockwave (I know, he totally doesn't fit at all, but I have no choice until I find a replacement)

WFC Soundwave
WFC Megatron (repainted him to Galvatron)

I repurposed RotF Mindwipe, Bludgeon, Axor and Lockdown as minions of Unicron. The skeletal look is very evil and it fits well.

The sword's not bad. Mine's mostly straight, and even if yours isn't, it doesn't ruin the entire figure.

I don't have different shelves for different universes, so I don't repurpose in that sense.

I sometimes rename figures. RotF Demolishor is Scavenger, Legends Tankor is Brawl (who just feels like being blue for whatever reason); I'd like to rename Terradive to Sunstorm, since he's with Movieverse Thrust, Starscream, and Dirge, but he gets brought up so often I can't not think of "Terradive."

I have Seaspray with Classocs, Skyhammer as my whirl, the walmart exclusive sidearm sideswipe from dark of the moon is my nightbeat, animated shockwave no longer is shockwave do to owning dotm shcokwave and is no a permanent longarm prime.

I don't know if this counts, but I really disliked Jetfire's old man design in ROTF, and had him substituted with Yamato's Macross Dynamite 7 VF-22S Sturmvogel II Gamlin Custom as movieverse Jetfire.

Yamato's Macross Plus YF-19 "Double Nuts" also stands in for G1/Classics Jetfire.

I have a query - does anyone repurpose 2007 Protform Starscream? I like him as a figure, but he's just not Starscream to me, and I'm trying to figure out who he could be instead. Any ideas?
