While the Lugnut figure didn't wow me, I'm still going with Lugnut here. The Drift figure is cool but his appearances are from comic books. Getting Lugnut on screen in TF:A goes a much longer way to earning fan acceptance in my book.

If you want to go with characters the Classicsverse overall retroactively added to G1 you have a lot more characters to choose from: Hot Shot, Dinobot, Lockdown, Nemesis Prime, Crasher (Fracture). Add in the Botcon & Club stuff and the added characters explode: Side Burn, Sky Byte, Bugbite, Rapido, Pyro, Clench, Deathsaurus, all of Shattered Glass, Leozack, Skyquake, Banzai-Tron, Flamewar. The upcoming Prime Bulkhead looks like it might work in Classics too.

Our Neo G1 collections are constantly being given new characters that fit the esthetic and can add greatly to the already rich lore of Transformers.

Yeah, but wasn't Lugnut part of the Movie-Verse Generations line? (Like Fallback, Deep Dive, Chopsaw, etc.)

Anyway, sorry, I'm with Drift, just because I somewhat like Ninjas...

I'd probably like Drift a LOT more if he wasn't a BAD example of "The fans running the asylum"... He was good at EVERYTHING and was a 'kewl ninja' that everybody liked, and otherwise was a TOTAL Mary Sue / Canon Sue.

So is this topic restricted to Drift and Lugnut or all retro-G1 characters?

I do like Drift and have no problem with his portrayal. I just wish he was available as a scout. Lugnut was one of my favourite Animated characters so I'm glad to see him introduced in2 G1. Hopefully, any G1 fiction will keep him close to his Animated characterisation. Pity about the Animated to Prime transition of Bulkhead.

If we're referring to all retro-G1, I have to give a shout to the Robotmasters. That series was the first Classics line. We got Leo Victory, Lio Convoy, the Seekers and Optimus Primal nicely remade. We even got characters from other series, with Double Face as the G1 incarnation of Armada Sideways and Wrecker Hook as an amnesiac RID Towline. I also like to think Wingstun is G1 Waspinator.

I also like reissue repaints such as Sunstorm and Soundblaster. I did like that Dreamwave hinted that Soundblaster would be a seperate character to Soundwave and I love Sunstorm's portrayal in their ongoing.

The likes of Soundblaster, Deep Cover and Acid Storm deserve more love and screentime.
