Ditto here. And probably the new Prime since I love semi trucks and am a huge sucker...![]()
Either way, at only 3 that's really going to help my wallet!

Well actually thanks to a series of carefully crafted joints and connectors, he's capable of merging with anyone from the smallest Micromaster to Unicron himself. You haven't lived until you've seen Erector reach his giant size, or Tracks with another mechs limbs and parts closely encircling him. Thanks to his delicate engineering he NO-ONE BLOODY KNOWS, IT'S JUST A PHOTO IN A BOX!

Look, they're just giving him the cane because without it, there's no way to distinguish him as 'old'.

Is it okay that I recognise that but still like it?

Counterpunch wrote:So...he can scan an advanced military jet/weapon, convert all of his ancient componets to a sleek dynamic vehicle that can travel at sub-sonic speeds, but can't correct an old football injury in the process? (Well, hell, I suppose if Bumblebee couldn't fix himself during scan/conversion...maybe I'm wrong. At any rate, it's still stupid.)
Look, they're just giving him the cane because without it, there's no way to distinguish him as 'old'.
It's not a case of G1-ism, or movie hate. This is a dumb concept and it's getting called on it.
Just as much as old time fans can't call back and return 1984's designs to the screen, live action movie fans have to not defend every aspect of the new movies as "progress".

Its an awesome aircraft, but it makes for a terrible alt-mode and contradicts Bays argument for realism.
Reasons? Mass and size considerations maybe; when did he land? What was nearby? Personal preferences involved? The fact that the plane was no longer in use may have led to that decision. In that case, what did he do with the original?Another thing, walking and flying are two different modes of transportation. Walking requires more physical effort...flying relies on the lift from the wings and very few moving parts, relatively.
Lets also not forget that (in the movie) Jetfire is supposedly 'discovered' in a museum.
What better place for a transformer to hide for decades than as a public display piece?
as a side note, I'd like to state that Yoda also used a cane... and could kick serious butt when needed.
you beat me to it, and i didn't even see it. the yoda comment is all yours, dude! let me just say-i second you Yoda comment!

How about seeing it in use in the movie before passing final judgement.

I've seen House before.
I know how this "cane" stuff works.

Comment on House duly noted. You hold the same logic to Yoda?

But Epps made it through the movie too! Maybe Bay can't even get racist stereotypes right?

For the record, I don't have any problem with Bay and I very much enjoyed the first movie.

T-Macksimus wrote:So, CP, did you happen to scan through my earlier posts in this thread? I was in my twenties when I was using a cane. I seriously doubt that even young teens thought me old due to the fact that I was using a cane. The fact that someone would have needed a firearm to rob me, even though I looked like an easy mark, would also serve to blow the "old and/or infirm" theory all to hell, since the short staff is my second most proficient weapon. I find the implications applied to Jetfires need for his cane insulting. Age does NOT have to be the only factor involved here and the fact that apparently NOBODY on this damn thread bothered to read any of my earlier posts displays a very large degree of narrowmindedness. Had any of my earlier arguments been addressed I doubt that folks would still be displaying such a high degree of ignorance. Like I mentioned before, if I come across any of you out in the woods who are injured and too dumb to improvise a cane or crutch from a stick or from your own supplies, I'll leave your asses for the bears! If folks are too dumb to figure Jetfires age without the cane as a visual, I'll drag their dumb asses out to the woods and feed them to the bears! Same with all those who insist on insulting the injured. You folks don't know sh** until you've been in our shoes.
T-Macksimus wrote:Past tense. I no longer require the use of a cane. As for the leaving folks to the bears, figurative more than literal. Such individuals are not doing humanity any great justice and in fact drag society as a whole down. I speak not of individuals who are challenged through no fault of their own but instead of those who actively choose to live in ignorance and who are capable of bettering themselves and are simply complacent and lazy about it. Those who are genuinely challenged tend to bless our lives in a variety of other ways and should be cherished and supported.
What bothered me is that NOT ONE PERSON stopped to consider that Jetfires cane was for any other purpose than to indicate age. NOT ONE!
I expected better from everyone considering the diversity we have here. The very nature of the toys we collect demands we see more than what is immediately apparent and yet everyone still blew it! Not only that, but even being called out on it, folks still bury their heads in the sand.
I think this is a cool toy with a cool gimmick that, as far as I'm concerned, could serve multiple purposes. The majority of folks are being narrow-minded and pissing all over the idea without even stopping to think about it. That is what frustrates me! People being ignorant and selfish just...because...they...can! Way to teach the upcoming generation folks. Hope you all are proud.
And my kids wonder why I wont let them register on this site...
Counterpunch wrote:Jetfire + cane for whatever reason is stupid. Scan and adapt. (Hell, can't he get some wheel feet instead of a cane? or what about crab legs? eh...)
