Wonder if this one will be closer to the film that how the first film novel was to the first film itself.

I didn't even know about the other two novels. Are they relevant to the plot?

They're based off a Michael Bay film, is anything REALLY relevant to the plot?

;)

Not that it's going to stop me from reading it.

most novelizations are based on scripts that eventually had changes made during production. in some cases they're minor and in other cases there are whole scenes added or removed..i've even seen some with characters having different names than the final product.

Judging by the first one, _Ghosts of Yesterday_, no. Not relevant or necessary to understand the plot of the original Bay movie.

And aesthetically speaking, the first one was so horrid I want that hour of my life back. No characterization, way too many humans (undifferentiated), no real understanding of how the 'bots differ from each other, falls into that 'bad guys are evil because they like it' thing, and the guy can't even write a space battle.

Shame too, because, back in the proverbial day, Foster wrote some darned good Star Wars novelizations.

I don't have high hopes for this one, either. In fact, _GoY_ almost ruined the franchise for me. Not sure I'm willing to take the chance with this one, and *definitely* not going to give Foster another nickel of my paycheck.

HK, my one skill on god's green earth is to tell you if a book is good or not.
