ROTF Sideswipe

Postby mampy » Sat Aug 01, 2009 9:29 am

Here is my third ROTF autobot custom - Sideswipe!

Sideswipe was painted with the same platinum automotive paint as my TFTM Jazz. I know, the metallic flakes look too big and the paintjob looks rough and textured in pics, but I just love the color. It looks much better in real life where you don't really notice the large metallic flakes. :) I modded the feet by removing the car fenders and epoxying them back to the car hood. This made them more accurate to the CG model which stood only on its wheels. I also added real springs to the suspension thingies on the back of his legs. Comments and critiques are very much welcome.

Motto: "If I take that... put it here... Aha! The perfect blender!"
Weapon: Arm-Mounted Magnetic-Lock Destabilizer Cannon
Perfect in almost all forms of the world. One critique: in the movie, his feet aren't as big as the fenders, but they are there. There just more like toes than feet. Other than that, it's perfect

I'm flattered that you think so. Thanks!

Oh, yeah there are some foot kibble pieces on the CG model but they're not the front fenders. The front fenders are on his forearms/wrists on the CG model.

This is actually somehow represented on the toy. The recessed area where his blade meets his arm is supposed to represent the headlights. It's not painted on my custom because I only found out after someone commented on my custom on another forum.

I may be a little late to the punch, but thanks a million for that foot mod. It works like a charm.
