How can you not see the obvious resemblance between the two?

Wikipedia is not a reliable source. So that proves nothing.

Just because a character is animalistic doesn't mean that their intelligence is low, Sky Lynx is proof of this.

Then again, this isn't G1 and Bay can very well do what he wants.

I think it is an interesting idea--the mental capacity of the six having to work together lowered G1 Devastator's IQ. Maybe that's the point of him crawling around instead of walking...forming an animalistic creature rather than a normal robot...
He has to walk on all-fours because his massive body is too heavy and prevents him from being able stand upright on his legs.

I am a sucker for gestalt gift sets. Love combiner teams. This one though may make me change my mind on that now.

I still think the reason for Scavenger and Demolisher is because Prime slags one in the begining of the movie (in China) and another bot is brought in to replace him for the final battle in Egypt.

That thing is suppose to be $100 and suppose to tower Fortress Maximus? I think not. I'll wait for them to make another set that does have robot modes and towers Fortress Maximus if it does happen.

I'm certainly not happy Devy's not getting a release outside of Legends class with three modes, but I do plan on getting this. I want an accurate depiction of him from the movie and this guy does accomplish that.

im going to get it, also the constructicons who transform in to robots. why get both cuss it makes a cool stopmotion vedio. also its a must for a transform fan. but i know some one some wear,a fan will make a custom movie devastator, but it will come with a lost. the lost will be the transformation of the constructicons being a weapon, and that is a good thing. and have the conponets that make dev put in to the cons. that way you have a transforming devastator, that can come apart and be its constructicons who can also transform in to robots.

It's a shame that the voyagers and deluxes don't combine. It's not because of the complexity in my mind but because of the sound and lights they want in the big devastator.
Still, I'm a sucker for combiners and the movie so I'm going to get the big wallet killer as well as the other TF's.
I don't think it's an epic fail.
What I do think is an epic fail is that at http://www.tfw2005.com you have to slagging log in to see a slaggin picture! I mean, WTF people?

This site should be renamed "Seiberbitch.com" :P

I'm getting this...Indivdual robots look freaking retarded anyway and would never see the light of day in my posession even if they WERE available from the combining figures...

And who the hell ever said it was going to "tower over Fortress Maximus"??

The wikipedia page has Demolisher separate form the rest of the constructicons so he might not even be one, just coincidentally a construction vehicle.

Why are poeple believing the Wikipedia page? Demolisher and Scavenger are the same figure. Demolisher has "SCVNGR" written on him. The only questionable figure is Overload.

I can't believe they want $100 for that. That's twice last year price of a Supreme.

There's no way in heck that thing is bigger than Fort Max. If it is, I'll be the first to start a petition thread for a Universe 3.0 Fort Max!
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

Botcon 2010--Souvenirs Rapido, Scorch/Shattered Glass Ravage

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

Nah all this confusion was started by the writers, stating that Overload is part of Devastator and that Scavenger and Demolisher are two different characters while Demolisher's not even a Constructicon. 8-}
We'll know everything once the movie comes out.

but yea, I wouldn't trust wikipedia and go with tfwiki who still have Demolisher and Scavenger listed as one and the same guy till there is proof that they really are separate.

Several of us already had this fight in a couple of other threads. To make the toy on this scale AND give it all the same functionality as what the Deluxe and Voyager components have would leave you with a floppy, fall-apart, frustrating piece of crap that only (some) collectors would be able to tolerate and no kid in Hasbros target demographic would be able to play with and enjoy without breaking it almost immediately or having it frustrate him inside of 5 minutes and I don't give a rats ass what anyone thinks to the contrary. It's just that simple. They cannot do it and retain ALL the proper characteristics so they went with pleasing the little kids since that's their meal ticket.
All I hope for is that this thing is NEVER released in G1 colors...EVER!
I look forward to seeing the Movie, I can't wait to see this guy on the big screen and I would love to get the Legends set and the Voyager class Mixmaster.
The rest of it, as far as both sets of toys go (this thing and the other Deluxe/Voyager components) make for a festering crap-pile and it will be a total insult to give these...things... G1 Constructicon colors.

The confusion is not over Demolisher and Scavenger, that was done by Hasbro...the confusion over the 7th constructicon is that Overload is listed ans the Takara Legends have 7 figures to make up Devestator.

I'm affraid I have to agree with T-Macksimus on this.

It would have been nice to get devastator from the separate constructicons. but to make it look somewhat movie accurate would have been a little tricky.
I don't mind this solution.

although I do understand the frustration of the hardcore fan who is going to have to buy all these extra toys because of this.

I'm just throwing it out there as a possibility. There isn't enough info to know for sure yet. Although Demolisher's bio says when he came to earth Megatron was destroyed, but in the trailers we see the Constructicons are the ones who revived him. So he does seem to be on his own alot for someone who's part of a combiner team.

Um, of course Megatron was destroyed when the Constructicons came to Earth. Otherwise, they wouldn't be reviving him if he wasn't destroyed.

I actually agree with his/your point.

There is just no way I will buy all of this "product" though. No freaking way. It might be the case that the engineering obstacles are too much to overcome, but it's still a silly situation especially at that price point. As far as durability........it's very likely going to be just as durable as any other TF, which is not meant to be a compliment. This thing is going to crumble in the hands of a child who actually "plays" with it. $100 down the drain in a matter of days. I wouldn't gripe nearly as much if this toy were priced just a smidge more appropriately. $100 is just a bit insulting to everyone, not just the fans.

One more thing. His face looks completely goofy in the package. He has a bit of Kremzeek-ness happening there. Anyone else notice that?
