I don't really care what we're getting as long as the mold choices are decent. I'm lost at G2 and UK exclusive stuff. Too much neon for me to really care.

Huge G2 fan but have a lot of them already. Surprised they picked Rapido, Skram is the more high profile Axelarator and Rapido has the worst bot mode.

Would love a purple Ramjet but name it Slipstream given both character's similar colour schemes.

Cybertron Starscream as Jhiaxus.

Energon Starscream as Hooligan. Looked great in the Botcon comic.

Energon Starscream as Smokescreen.

Probably see Classics Bumblebee in gold or Classics Sideswipe as Rage or Firecracker. Not a fan but I'm sure someone would like them.

One of the Movie Bumblebees for Windbreaker. Though I prefer his Euro name of Zap.

Much rather if they just repainted old G2 molds like the Laser Rods or Stormtroopers. Robotmasters was my happy revisit to G2.

What would make you think there would be no Decepticons? Every year there is a pretty equal number of Bots to Cons. And People always know what they are buying. The names and theme are released in the brochure and then the sneak peak of toys over the course of a couple weeks will be shown. Plus if you end up not liking the toys, you can always cancel your registration.

As for the add ons, I like that they are meant to be a surprise at the convention.

If you can, go. If you don't like the set then keep them for a year and sell them off for 3 times what you paid for it.

There is more to Botcon than the toys.

I've got high hopes for this set, being an old schooler who stuck with the line all the way through our 3-year long darkest hour of G2. Not that the line was bad; I mean that horrible feeling that the whole franchise could drop dead and be forgotten at any moment. Didn't shake that off until well into Beast Wars. If you weren't part of online fandom, for all you knew, you were the last one who cared.

The only way they could go wrong is if all this talk of repainted gestallt teams leads to Classics Silverbolt and Onslaught in G2 colors. That'd be a total waste.

And am I the only one who thinks Armada Jetfire with a new head would be the perfect Jhiaxus? He's rounded, and even has those fins on the back of his calves, just like big J!

For characters from where G2 blurs into the J/E exclusives...could some character choices in Last Stand of the Wreckers be telegraphing?

As for Sky Scorchers, Cybertron Jetfire to Terradive would be the easiest repaint of all.

And the box itself should look like the Cybernet Space Cube.

Yeah, those were interesting times. The only way you knew about new figures back then was by going out and doing some real toy hunting. Two of the coolest finds I ever had was ...

1) when I found Laser Rod Optimus Prime at KB Toys ... didn't know about it until that very moment and it was the only time I ever saw that figure in stores. Bought after my last day of high school around Memorial Day 1995.

2) Not seeing any new toys until January of the next year at a Kmart ... when I thought Kenner bought the name "Transformers" from Hasbro and started making these new "beast" toys. It had been so long since I had had a Transformers fix that I bought them just because I wanted to collect something. At least it was still "Megatron" ... but what was up with this Optimus Primal name? Did Hasbro keep the name Optimus Prime for themselves? Ah, another crazy moment.

I kind of expect this ... but I agree, this would be a waste to me. Definitely cooler characters that need some love. Though somehow I'm OK with purple Ramjet and black Sideswipe. Go figure.

For me, it was seeing a TV listing for the G2 cartoon, being really excited to watch it after I got home from church and wanting to punch my TV screen when I realized what it really was.

I would say there's never been a stupider idea in the history of Transformers, but we did just hear about that cologne.

While I do have a small soft spot for G2, it being my first exposure to Transformers technically, there are only a few figures I'd like to see homaged. Black Sideswipe, Blue Grimlock, "Canadian" Slag, ATB Megatron and Starscream, the Cyberjets, and maybe some unreleased figures like General Optimus Prime, Sgt. Hound, and the unknown Autojetter and Autolauncher repaints.

I have a feeling that Sideswipe and Ramjet might be one of the bonus sets, along with a Chrome'd up Minibot. I can see them splitting the Minibots up like they did with the Predacons in SG.

Imagine if they gave us the G2 GoBots line using some popular Deluxe-class car 'bots and giving them retooled G1 character heads.

There had been talks of the G2 Decepticons under Jhiaxus, particularly Rook. What would you think about a repainted/remolded Energon Barricade for him?

I'd really like to see G2 Dreadwing get some love. And the Rotor Force & Laser Rod/Cycle teams.

As far as I'm concerned, this is great news. Last year's set was a disappointment. This is already a step in the right direction. The Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokescreen mold is a good one.
