I tell ya, hasblo would b makin hella more $$$ on teh figs if they jus gave em decent movie-accurate paint jobs. if I saw sumthin like this in stores, I'd b on it like a Trekkie on 1 of Shatner's toupees, n I believe many other fans share my sentiment. give teh fans wut they want, u make more $$$ that way

I think it's a kitbash Hasbro would never paint over their precious light up gimmicks (the light up wings/spines things) However I really hope that this thing is for real because the current paint job doesn't do Megs justice, and I am terrible at painting figures and too poor to buy one that is sold on ebay.

Im glad I havent been able to find Megs in stores, not because I hope that they do a repaint, but because I would be taking it apart and trying to paint it myself right now to look like this. I have a feeling that by the end of it, he would be ruined, and I would probably look like the silver surfer

I don't think Hasbro would spend so much money on a decent paint job.

Although, it would make sence considering how Hasbro works- release crappy version first, make everybody think that's it. They buy it. THEN release a decent version, and everybody goes out a buys that too.

Bet that is a custom. Look at the pop up "fins" that normally light up. Why would they paint them silver and totally ruin one of the electronic features? CUSTOM!

Even if this is a custom job, it is a very considerable thing ot see it appear on ACTOYS radar, and the fact that they are in deep Asia.. it shows how much this new color scheme is in demand, maybe we will see a domestic release because of these custom exposures..I hope Takara Tomy or Hasbro decide its worth the time and money to rerelease Megatron in "Movie Accurate" colors..

Does this look inkwashed? If it is, only very lightly. It's a lot heavier on timshinn's.

Timshinn's is also a grittier, less shiny silver which is probably a little more movie accurate. Overall I like (possible)Hasbro ones.

But this will probably be a pricey exclusive that gets scalped to death, either way.

On another note... this repaint makes Megatron look a lot like Silverbolt. Anyone else getting that vibe?

It's a custom. One way you can tell aside from the black wash all over is that some of the screws are silver while others on the arm are now copper. Mass-market figures use one color of screw for an assembly and they're always silver or black. On very rare occasions you'll see colored screws and that's usually only with anime import figures from like Koto or such.
