Nope. It went on clearance everywhere. Dropped to $30 in some places. The lofty, much beloved, much sought after Star Convoy.

I'm uncertain as to how Deathsaurus would sell with that in mind. After the 500 or so of us who both want and can afford the reissue have bought our one, perhaps two, then what?

Don't get me wrong, I very much want to own that toy. But it's not like the fans did all that well keeping up their end of the deal last time this ship hit our shores.

I was surprised to see that happen. I bought my Star Convoy the moment it was released.

I've been looking around and some people have stated that this is a picture from the 2000 Japanese Botcon.

Pre-ordered mine when the solicit went up. I wouldn't drop the ball on most of these. Predaking and Insecticons I have reissues of. The rest? Ohhh, so bought. I'd punch babies to make Victory Saber a reality.

Yes and no.....

Yes = the photo is old

No = Some future reissue included some figures in the image.... Future means not too far in the future....

I disagree with this statement completely. There is much more prestige that goes along with a MIB vintage than a reissue MIB or not. Therefore no shine has been taken off any collection because of a reissue.

I did my part, I bought two of them last time. Before they went clearance. :sad:

I have Deathsaurus, it's a great piece. I want something a little more inspired, but that's me.

Being that it's 2010, surely Takara are missing the opportunity for some super-mega-chromed versions of Rodimus Convoy and Galvatron to be released through the Encore line?

In fact, a chromed Marvel-style G1 Galvatron toy would really get me interested.

Well, since this is as good as confirmed to be an old picture, I'm not excited, but out of all of these I'd most like to have Predaking. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to afford him. I still don't even have Encore Bruticus or Metroplex.

I never wanted Star Convoy. I was more interested in the Big Powered set, and of Course Overlord when I actually saw Masterforce and Victory in my college days back in '96. My friend had lots of japanese TF catalouges from when he used to live in Japan as a child. He had some pictures of his toy collection from when he was a kid, and he pointed out his Star Convoy. I just wasn't feelin him, I kept looking at the Overlord and God Ginrai pictures though.

Deathsaurus may sell, but why go to him and not release the rest of the htf victory toys. LioKaiser would probably be the one that would never stay in stock, and even if they limit the numbers it still would be sold.

No need to be sad, since we think the photo is from BotCon Japan 2000, and thus is no proof for the existance of those reissues. Shame, really.

I thought that was Apeface. Wouldn't say no to Triggerhappy or a Demolisher repaint, preferably with a head remold to give us a War Within Dinobot.

With the 2010 campaign (awesome) and the Animated line (just don't care at all) dominating Takara Tomy's year in Japan, it will be some time yet before Predaking gets realeased ditto Sixshot as part of Encore or Encore line II perhaps because it's been 8 months?
Trypticon would be nice if he does get re-released and it does make sense but then it also would have made sense to re-release Devastator, Sideswipe and Scorponok after the Transformers movies but they didn't.

With Bruticus, Pirranacon and Predaking all getting released I wonder which Autobot combiner will be the first one to get Encored?
I would guess Superion.
