Wasn't the original reason for not releasing Beast Wars Neo Unicron the price tag? If so, I'd be more inclined to believe that the $100+ price tag is due to this. If it isn't, perhaps we're getting a brand new figure?

I think I remember reading how they felt the end product was disappointingly small and with no corresponding material in the US to market it, there wasn't much point.

More like lack of interest. People could pre-order the toy and once those have reached a certain level production would start. Obviously that never happened.

Is it dipped in freaking gold? No, just no. I'm sure I'll be able to find the Armada version for a steal after this. Unless this thing turns out to be TF of the year, MP Rodimus is MUCH higher priority for me.

Or maybe Hasbro will surprise us at Botcon and announce their own version. Unlikely I guess, since the Universe one just came out last year.

Since the Universe one was just a repackage (Right? I didn't buy one, but have the original Armada one, and they looked the durn same to me...) do you think that Hasbro might not want to get in on releasing a new Unicron regardless?

It was jsut a re-release, yes. I don't know if Hasbro would release it again so soon, honestly. I remember it not selling very well, much like Supreme Devastator this year.

hmmmm...

BW Neo Unicron is not all that great. If I had to pick from Armada or BW Neo, Armada is superior, period. Sure the clear parts were annoying, but having owned the Armada one, selling it, then aquireing the black repaint for half the price of the Universe re-release, I'll stick with the semi obscure black one.

However, if the paint job is G1 accurate, and the head mold is what they say it should be, then RobotKingdom should have my preorder.

I have an Energon Unicron I got way back in the day. I got the recent Armada re-release.

I'm good. They can keep their head.

I've never bought a Unicron for what it was initially advertised as and I certainly won't buy an $80 figure for #135. Frankly, they'd really need to modify the entire thing before I can say I'd feel comfortable with that markup.

I think either Hot Rod or Rodimus Prime will be great Masterpiece figures. I would definitely buy either (although Hot Rod is a way cooler character that Rodimus) but as it is 2010, it really has to be Rodimus. I wonder what they'll do with the trailer......

Thinking about the 2010 campaign, you would think that now would be the perfect time to release Encore editions of Hot Rod/Rodimus, Ultra Magnus and Galvatron in addition to the upcoming Masterpiece and Unicron repaint. I know that Predaking and Sixshot are coming (maybe sometime this century but not holding my breath) and I'm much happier that they are the ones being released as I already have rereleased R/R, UM & G.

Takara Tomy should totally make the next Gentei exclusive Prime in his nemesis colours (but called Sleep mode of course).

I was going to buy Armada Unicron recently but changed my mind and am glad I waited!
No chance I'll be spending any cash on sleep mode prime tho.
Masterpiece Rodimus is a yes and so would Galvatron (please Takara Tomy, please).

screw rodimus, hopefully they do a masterpeice for scourge or cyclonus, or maybe even they can finally produce and release the bw neo unicron! i'm keeping my fingers crossed for that.

MP Rodimus or Hotrod or both i MIGHT get, but Unicron well even with a different head may or may not justify me getting him. I need pics first and if i miss out on Unicron im not worried about him since i have the TFU 2.0 version from TRU and Unicron is an Ok figure but not one of my favorites.
