Yeah, I don't think rust remover will damage the wheels. What you can try is getting a small rag, putting the rust removal on that, and try rubbing it carefully. Otherwise I don't know.

For Doubledealer owners out there with the same Cosmic Rust problem. I can verify by using SC Johnson's GLO. I managed to reduced the rust on his tire rivets to a minimum without damaging the wheel plastic.

Just to a minimum that is. The reddish brown stuff got taken off but there well still minute blemishes.

Checked out Brasso but didn't actually get it. It has ammonia as an ingredient, didn't want to risk it discoloring the plastic.
