Saving sticky Prowl!

A question for all the Universe Prowl owners out there:

My Universe Prowl has not yet shown signs of the sticky paint problem common to the mold, but then, I don't handle the figure all that often. If possible, I would like to take steps to stop it from happening, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I thought of using a clear-coat spray paint on the affected parts, similar to what I would use on my Warhammer 40,000 figures. Would that work/be a good idea, or has anyone tried it with bad results?

Thanks so much for the help! :BOT:

I think they fixed the problem in later runs. If yours isn't sticky by now, maybe it's post-fix. Mine's not sticky either. I would just try to keep it out of heat/humidity as much as reasonably possible.

Hopefully it is a later run... but I have noticed that there is some wear around the edges of the car-mode roof, although that could just be yellowing.

Even if it's not going to turn sticky, I'd still rather take the step to prevent it just in case... so if anyone knows if using a clear coat is good/bad, please pipe in!

As far as I knew Sticky Prowls were sticky right out of the box. Its not something that developed, it was a production fault.

If its not sticky by now, it won't get sticky.

Mine was sticky right out of the box, and has since dried up for the most part. Though his roof and windows were quite messy.

My first Silverstreak has the same problem, it seems to have started during a certain hot summer. Which makes sense, as paint could liquify again when a certain temperature is reached. My second Streak stays MOSC for now.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
