Weapon: Plasma Beam Rifle
Henkei...I can't figure it out. Is it a toy company or a specific line of transformers? Are they knockoff or legit? Can somebody clear this up for me once and for all.

Henkei are basically the japanese version of the classics line. They are made by Takara so they are legit, although there are knockoff versions around. They feature paint jobs closer to their G1 counterparts and often feature chrome parts.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...

There are NO Henkei knockoffs, just Classics.

They ALL have chrome. The Ultras are not really part of the Henkei line, they're not labeled as such (not numbered like the other Henkei figures).

There is a knock-off of the exclusive lucky draw henkei Prime so that is at least one confirmed case of a non-legit henkei.

Lucky Draws are a Japanese-only thing. Thus a KO of a Japanese-only version of the mold is a KO of a henkei toy.

You forgot to mention SUPERIOR to the Classics/Universe figures :P

Basically, they're the same figures - I personally believe Henkei have the nicer paint jobs (with the exception of Grimlock & Cyclonus, but many cartoon fanboyz will like the latter at least). But you have to weigh higher price vs better paint scheme and decide what's most important to you.

That's right Henkei figures are almost all much better painted than the Classics versions & have lots of chrome which I think is cool.
I hope that TakaraTomy will consider doing Punch Counterpunch for everyone who has missed out on the TFCC version.
It's a great range of figures and the exclusives have generally been awesome too.

I don't think all (or most) Henkei figures are better than their Classics counterparts. Actually, the only cases I can think of are Dinobot, Hotshot, and Megatron. Classics Cyclonus and Henkei Cyclonus are both excellent but each in their own right. The Classics version resembles the original G1 toy whereas the Henkei version resembles the G1 cartoon model. Every other Classics release is either better or equal to the Henkei version.
