Scout Scattorshot
- Motto: "If I win again I'm still the champion. If you win HAH! that's just impossible.
Weapon: tea cup."
I got him a few days ago and just opened him. I'm impressed! Figuring out the tramsformation (sans instructions) was quite tricky! He has impressive poseability thanks to the complex transformation and quite a few extra joints. It's a bit fiddly moving his head as the joint is stiff and surrounded by car parts but he's awesome. You can pop the guns out if you ever get tired of the dual wielding!
Anyone else got him yet? I was very surprised to find him so soon, what with living in England!

I agree with Valandar. If one considers the limitations the designers have to work with when designing Scout class figures(such as a low number of parts to allocate), I think that the latest Scout figures are quite remarkable. I've got to catch up on acquiring more Scout figures for my collection!

I just discovered that you can make him about 1cm taller if you use the grey shovel things as toes instead of shin guards.
I think they are, in general, superior to previous scouts but I've passed on everything except Knock-Out, Ransack, Scattorshot and Breakdown(not yet opened) due to either lack of neck joint (that little car thingy) or simply being way out of scale with everything else (boat thing). But figures like Scattor blow me away with the cleverness of design and the extra joints. It seems SOME of the designers know what we want!

He's good and all. Not super fond of his hunchback robot mode but it's cool that he has the big guns. I like to have him and ROTF Brawn in a kind of "shootout against the world" kind of pose.

This is a great figure and shows just how much detail and articulation can be crammed into something in this scale class. Hasbro has no excuses in the future now!
Love the weapons (finally, more guns, and without a stupid, useless missile gimmick to boot!) and his protruding-brow gorilla look.
I did not know that the guns can be removed from the arms without breaking them though. What's the best way to do it?

Just carefully pull them out. They're only held in by friction and a slightly larger nub. Just be careful, too often in and out and they'll get looser and looser - several years down the road.

Totally agree!
In general the off-screen movie figs are up there with some of my favorite TFs ever. The on-screen designs ... not so much.
The scouts, in particular, always seem to impress me.
I absolutely want another of this little guy for customizing purposes!

I got him a few weeks ago and I gotta say I was disappointed. Like most of the movie toys he looks far to simian for any good and the back/head kibble limits his articulation. If I could do it over I'd skip him.

Well your opinion isn't welcome in this thread! I'm kidding. He is very simian and I don't like the length of his arms but I'm overlooking that as I like the rest of him so much. I also wish the guns could be attached somewhere else to free up his hands. I'm trying to think of a discreet place to drill a hole.

That's cool, but as I don't have Brawn and may not buy him I was actually thinking he'd make a good Brawn himself!

I agree. With the first film I passed on most off-screen toys and didn't consider them canon as I don't have the game or comics. With ROTF I think the off-screeners are much better than before and I don't have the same snooty disregard for them! Now I'm just waiting for England to catch up and stock them!

I just rotate the guns out of the way, I like the idea of the being able to roll into place when needed. By the way, anybody notice that the right hand holds the gun a touch off center? That drove me nuts.

Yes, but they get in the way of the elbow or stick out too much for my taste. I'm looking for a place to put them near the shoulders so he can still use them.

No. Are you sure the wrist joint is clicked in properly?

Yes but it might be the left hand, I can't remember if I was looking at the figure head on when I noticed. It's one of those things that you only notice if you're looking for it then you can't ignore it.

I got him and Brakedown last night. Wasn't expecting to see these guys over here despite living less than half a mile from Caswell Way. I think this guy is ace, makes Dunerunner worth getting as a kind of gunner unit. Who else thinks there'll be an Outback repaint, probably called Fallback?

I've just studied mine and I have to say that both his hands hold the gun perfectly. You obviously got the deformed one.

Re: Scout Scattorshot
I concur with all of the good things I've heard so far in this thread. Just picked the little fella up at a local Toys R Us, and I am extremely satisfied thus far. Excellent robot mode, a good, complex transformation (that, or I'm losing my touch in my old age!), and a cool-looking vehicle mode.
Love the color scheme, paint apps, and homage to a character I was quite fond of from the Cybertron series (thus the username). Only gripe I can find at all is that the guns aren't removeable, or retractable, but that's easily overlooked based on the fact that they're nice-looking weapons, and at least this way I won't lose the bloody things. Best TF I have picked up in a good, long time in my opinion. A 9.5/10 for me.

I believe the guns are removable, but should be done with care.
I have not tried this yet, but I've read posts where others have done so.
I think they are press-fit joints, so you probably don't want to do this too often.

After seeing him in the "On the Brink" comics, I want to get it, even with his out of scale ness...
Mostly because I have some odd idea for a secondary Autobot team led by Ultra Magnus with the cast of Cyberton(or Galaxy force...whatever).
