RiD'15 -- meh, everyone seems so samey. People genuinely believe BB's a reuse of the Vehicon mold, that ain't good.

Kreons -- interesting, though unless they make the big bots that way I'll be passing on them. Then again I already got plain Kreon versions of Trypticon and Scorponok, dunno if I'd want another version of them...

Combiners -- pretty cool, though I really don't care for those two particular teams, the feet/hands being separate parts (but I get why they did that), or the seemingly standardized robot forms for the limb bots. And look at all that robot junk under the jet modes, ugh.
'Course, I'd go crazy for animal/monster combiners.

That Slingshot helicopter and Wildrider truck is just plain wrong. It's like if Hasbro did it on purpose. They basically said, lets nail 4 and get the 5th one all wrong just to piss off the fans. It's always something with Hasbro. If they are scramble city, we can always hope Funpub makes good on where Hasbro failed. A proper Slingshot repaint with retooled wings from the Fireflight mold. And a repaint of Breakdown with a new Wildrider head. And maybe Dr. Wu can make a new head that looks more like Menasor and less like Unicron.

Off Road seems like Crankcase with colors reversed and Ruckus' head. Weird. Slingshot was clearly meant to be Vortex. So pretty sure you can throw Bruticus in there unless this is meant for a much further down the line redeco

If Hasbro really wants to get us away from 3p toys, they should be releasing Computron and Defensor. Then there would be no need (if they were good toys) to turn to the upcoming 3p toys releases.

Based on the earlier Protectobot repaint packs, I don't believe a combining Defensor is on their near future radar, no matter how much I would like it.

Club get to plans for my G2 colored Stunticons and Aerialbots please.

This is all awesome. Finally I can have a sweet looking Menasor as the 3rd party one was way out of my price range and the Stunticons are my fav combiner. Plus it looks like IDW is going to have combiner wars in the comics, they have nailed everything so far. Even though the combined Menasor 3rd party may look a bit better, I like the individual Hasbro Stunticons much more. Motormaster looks real cool and yeah there is the Wildrider thing but its not that bad as I understand the reason. New RiD show looks pretty fair too and the Bumblebee warrior(deluxe) looks great.

If these new combiners really are "Scramble City" types, I can see Hasbro releasing a proper Slingshot and Wildrider further down the line that you can use instead of Alpha Bravo or Offroad. Think about it. They get you two buy these alternate "new" characters as limbs now to complete each combiner, then throw the rest of the proper team members our way later, making us buy two toys we may have passed on had they come later on instead. It's brilliant marketing.

More likely someone along the chain - Hasbro suits, the chain stores, or focus groups - objected to having four cars and four fighter jets all be in the same case. Hard to sell a wave to a store when, to the uneducated eye, you've got a box full of look-a-like cars. And if the figures were split into separate cases we'd all be crapping ourselves about distribution.

Funny, I was just thinking that this will prompt 3rd party gestalts to go back to the days of Munitioner and Explorer, with at least one company producing the "missing" member of each team. But if Hasbro did the same as well, and timed it just right, that could really hurt the unofficial competition's bottom line.

Being able to swap in alternate gestalt components who're auxiliary members of the same team does have one G1 precedent in the Breast Force, who were ironically not a SC team, and ain't happening on Hasbro's side of the pond soon anyway.

Is an additional issue with Slingshot possibly a licensing problem with his Harrier alt? I thought I heard that somewhere.

As for RIDII, while I'm meh on the animation itself, at least it's somewhere TF hasn't exactly gone before. But that Bee...WOAH! He used that sword to skin a Vehicon for his new armor! Just like how AofE Lockdown skinned those Muppets for their pelts and kept their eyes and innards on mobile life support machines so they could do menial work on his ship! This cartoon really WILL be darker than Prime!

Okay, I am commenting on the TRANSFORMING KREO SET because that's what news article I am on. However, thanks to the JOY of thread merging, there are now no less than 3 other news topics raging in the same coment screen. Please mods, here my cry of disgust, this is annoying, ad painful, and no better than thread derailing.

So, it only took Hasbro twodecades to figure this out? I hope this isn't replacing the minifigs, I like the little Lego people cosplayers, but kudos to them for trying. the proportions are extrememly lacking however, but curious to see where this goes from here. I really want a Kreo Megatron figure of a gun for that Starscream though. Maybe the Galvatron fig would work?

Okay, so riddle me this, is Air Raid and Skydive mold mates? Or are they just sharing design toolings? The chests, although different in the pectoral, seem to be identical in the cor, pobbily due to the need for symmetry in combing, but they also have identical guns and near0-identical leg assemblies. Or am I just seeing things?
