The weapon that taken down Devastator...i wanted to discuss it.
Is it reverse-engineered from Transformers?Sector messing with the Cube and Megatron?
We will see more things like that in the sequel?

hopfully not, it just reminded me of metal gear solid 2 and 4 with them rail guns. and plus its Bay of course hes not going to have a story behind it I find it weird that in 2 years time theres a huge rail gun out of nowhere

Given it's "top secret" how can you say it's "out of no where"?

Plus it's not like rail guns are new to TF's. It's what Cobra installed in Megatron when they rebuilt him to his G2 self.

well it did come out of nowhere, Why wouldnt they use this huge rail gun to kill off all transformers? why was it there when devastor was there its as if they new a 120ft robot was going to come. why wasnt it in the first movie? how was it created, who created it? huh?

Please tell me you're joking and don't expect all that explained ...

no lol im not joking, im dead serious hopfully TF3 will explain it and hopfully there will be an acctual story in TF3

You could always put it down to one of those "sci-fi things that don't need to be explained" ...

uhh, we have prototype railguns now. In the real world. We dont need tf help. tTe plan is for ships to have them as a primary weapon in about 15 years.

It is expected to be ready in 2020 to 2025.

So The railgun in the movie isnt inaccurate to fact, except in its appearance.

They plan/hope on 64 megajoules by 2016. The rail gun is neither top secret nor fictional. Why did anyone assume that this technology didn't actually exist? It isn't perfected yet, but it certainly isn't fictional.

Ah rail guns.......I remember the first time I heard about them was on Quake II. Good ol memories there.

I'm actually surprised Bay hasn't touched up on the Vortex shells being tested or even the dragon scale armor thats been developed. Perhaps, being he has said connections to the US military touching up on such information is at this point very very sensitive. But then again, you would have to ask yourself what type of person would turn to a "Transformers" movie for intelligence.

Being the Bayformers were hurt and taken down in the first film with 105 shells, which do burn hotter then the Warthog Uranium shells (Dubbed the tank killers), I wouldnt be surprised that a rail gun wouldn't work as well. What I don't believe is that they have one that large. I mean that thing was huge, nearly half the size of the Destroyer.....and though regular transformers were vulnerable to our tech and weapons.....Devastator seems like he would be more of a tougher nut to crack. I mean you have this huge thing, which needs reinforced armor and structure just to stand upright within our Atmosphere....one shot from a rail gun.....event that size.....an ocean away......nope. Not buying it. Maybe at point blank range but then again this Devastator was being beat up by the twins.....so yeah. Thats a major downgrade from being the Dinobots arch rival in terms of power so I'm not too surprised it went down so easily.

If anything, I suspect they will upgrade some rail tech in the next film being the Decepticon presence has been more active since ROTF hence they won't be pulling any stops in terms of defense.

And no, I don't find it to hard people wouldn't know about the rail gun. I gather the demograph which is interested in Transformers would not be the same demograph that reads Popular Science or watched Futureweapons and such. There are exceptions, but again those are exceptions.

Rail Guns are not that big of a secret, you could youtube it and see the prototype military weapon. Not they do NOT look like how the movie does with the fancy little laser show and all but there is at least one that I know of installed on a battleship.

On a side note my friend and I have decided to build one. Gonna be hard but it is possible. It wont be able to take down devastator though.

Railguins have been around. Arnold stopped a shipment of them from going to oversees buyers like 15 years ago.

The microwave was once a 'secret prototype weapon'. I knew the guys who invented it. They were trying to make a ray gun like you see in old sci fi movies. They'd point it out the window at, say, a rabbit, and not much would happen for a few seconds, and then the rabbit would jump straight in the air like its ass was on fire. Then it would hop away. Weapon = FAIL, hot pocket warming goodness = WIN.

If you want to get all nerdy, explain the sabot rounds from the first movie first. Most used by the US are 'tank killers' which are normally fired by 120mm howitzers. I simply don't think a rifle or firearm sabot round would work. I think Remington made them for a short time but they were discontinued and not very effective. Not enough uranium.

The old tanker legend, of course, is that the sabot pierces the tank, and produces a vacuum on flying out, sucking the tank crew out a very small hole. Very ugly. I don't think it's true, but it's a great creep out.

Railgun = real. 'High heat sabot round' from a non-tank or artillery piece = bogus. Yeah the ones that took out Scorpy in the first movie were from a 105 from the AC130 (drooooooool) but every one thereafter? Nonsense and more nonsense.

Partly true. The guys I knew said that they noticed a couple of weird things, like they were all, even through their clothes, 'sunburned' from the waist up--right where their worktable edge didn't protect them. And that candybars in shirt pockets melted. And that metal (pen caps) sparked or got hot.

I don't remember their names--I worked with them for a summer years ago at Picatinny Arsenal.

(They also showed me the Glowing Building--a building that had stored so much nuclear waste it actually did glow at night).

I didnt like the fact that it took one shot and Devastator was down in a heartbeat. I wanted to see Devastator do something useful, not get killed by some gun that just happened to be many miles out to sea. The Decepticons in the next movie need to kill some more Humans, show they wont get pushed around by a bunch of "insects". Seriously though, I found the Rail gun random and oh so convenient.

Kill more humans?Like they didnt kill enough int his one?Remenber in Shanghai where Demolishor kill a bunch of choppters,a bunch of people,a bunch of cars and bunch of soldiers?And that was just the beginnig!

That may be so, but I want some mass carnage. I want the Humans to start fearing the Decepticons. They fight them as if they are fighting other Humans. The Decepticons need to start kicking some major ass. The Decepticons in the second movie were a bunch of wimps. I really hope in the next movie the Decepticons come down and start attacking all the major cities of the world, maybe they will redeem themselves in my eyes. MAYBE.

Yes, yes, and more yes. That was my biggest disappointment of ROTF. With the Decepticons such pushovers, the Autobots really started to look like bullies. Even when the D'cons 'exposed' themselves as part of the Fallen's plot, all they did was hang out on rooftops and kick a flag over. Not exactly terrifying.

Ummm, if you remember, Demolishor was just sitting hanging out doing NOTHING until the Autobots provoked him. If you started shooting at me, I'd run like hell and probably hurt people too to get away from you. If we're talking the law, the Autobots were the aggressors, and therefore, all the people killed would be their fault. They started it.

I almost wish I were wrong here, because it would be nice to see some Decepticon-caused carnage.

Totally disagree. I think you missed the whole idea, HK. You have completely separated an event in time from it's surrounding context. That is actually impressive.

The Autobots were doing preventative tactics against demolishor. Much like when police raid a drug lab or something. Taking care of the problem before it becomes a larger threat.

I dont care what anyone says, the Decepticons need to stop getting so easily killed by a bunch of stupid Humans with assault rifles. Why the hell would anyone bring an assault rifle to fight a giant metal alien robot? How much damage is that actually going to do? You would think RPGs would be a lot more effective... come to think of it, the rail gun isnt such a bad idea... DECEPTICONS TRANSFORM AND RISE UP!!!!

You SAW the movie right? They did exactly that, they started raining down all over the world. There was a news report that said there were 7000 reported casualties.

Also in the first movie during the mission city battle they were using grenade launchers.
