I actually think it's more they have similar tastes of humour. Though I understand the point you're trying to make silly but as a life lesson you Nedd to be able to split serious political debate and humorous political satire. Me? I use the method matt and trey method (of south park fame) in that everyone and everything is a target for satire which is equality at its finest.

Only ones who talk like that in this country are the ones with the most money and are the ones the rest of the country would like to punch the most for continuing the stereotype :lol:

Plus depending where you're from in this country, you're accent and way you talk can differ immensely, often to great comedy effect!

Yeah, in the U.S. We have that whole regional thing too. In Michigan, we have what many people think of as the most plain accent out of all of them; whenever someone from another country is playing an American, they tend to go for the "Midwestern" accent.

There is no such thing as 'no accent'. All languages have social, regional, national varieties.

Ain't that the truth; accents can vary greatly even within a state. Take my home state Louisiana for example. The northern half is fairly different than the southern half (where I live), there's a cajun-french mix going on down in bayou country and then you've got a big city accent in the New Orleans area (think some Boston/NYC hybrid (and that varies greatly depending on which suburb you're in)).

Side note: it's a pet peave of mine when a movie portrays New Orleans as having a southern plantation accent.

Hell, even in Michigan, we have different accents. The people in the Upper Peninsula, being so close to Canada, sound like the stereotype for Canadians: "eh man, that moose right dere kinda looks like a beaver." But it's just funny how the Midwest region is considered "American English" by other countries. It probably has something to do with how close we are to New England, but being the "next section" of America settled had enough effect to the dialect. I dunno.

Different sign languages do. Both national and regional.
I learned British Sign Language (BSL) with a Leeds variation, which is different from, say, a London version, and different still from ASL (American Sign Language).

It does also mean I can high five people in the face with a message.
