Oh trust me, it wasn't a dig against Lasery Prime. It's easily one of the top 5 Primes of all time. I never actually had laser Prime, my first version was RID Scourge and I was blown away. And honestly, I had no idea at the time it was even an old mold 8-}

He's really great. Totally worth the pickup. One thing that bugs me though (and with the Encore's) is the unpainted eyes. That little bonus woulda gone MIIIILLLEEESSS.... I plan to paint them myself eventually, cause them stickers are the worst of the worst :-(

Sweet scores, Shaj! I'll have to watch WW this weekend.

I saw Alien Covenant last Friday, though! I enjoyed it, and it was nice to see Ridley Scott still knows how to make cool-looking sci-fi -- I especially dug the alien plaza with all those humanoids having been decimated by the airborne virus (?). What did I miss from the extras?

The only thing I didn't really care for was the very predictable ending -- any horror fan coulda seen that coming!

Basically, David's true motivation and the fate of Elizabeth Shaw. They're both fully explained in the special features stuff, and a lot of people had a problem with the seeming abandonment of many plot points from Promethius, and leaving such things unexplained.

And yeah, then ending was terribly predictable. I didn't mind it, but the shower scene *ugh*. This isn't a Jason movie FFS :roll:

Who thinks MP09 is obsolete? I sold my Takara versions (black & regular, v1, v2, etc.) years ago, but am torn on getting rid of my Hasbro one.

Thoughts?

That really surprises me. Not that people hate MP-9, but that you'd choose the Hasbro one over the two Takara ones? I only just got MP-9B and I LOVE him

What makes you call him obsolete anyways? It's not like he's been replaced by a superior version. Not even 3P's have done it yet. And no, Carry doesn't count because the aesthetic choices are too far off to fit in with the official MP roster. [-(

Hey hey!

There are a few things going in my head.

First, the mental and/or logistical delineation I make with everything pre & post-MP10. My collection essentially ignores everything that came before as non-MP, at least on the Takara side. Grimlock, at least, is more or less Classics scale and fits there (that will absolutely not change with PotP Grimlock, yeesh), but I've always had trouble fitting Rodimus in. Especially now with the new MP, the 09 mold feels redundant.

Second, an aesthetically pleasing yet combustible mold is not aesthetically pleasing to me. I'm scared I'm going to break something, so I would never transform him anyway.

As a corrollary to my second point, third, of he's in robot mode all the time, he will necessarily be in the back of any display, making the non-black/grey legs a nonissue to me (besides, I prefer the Hasbro face - IF I'm going to make a pre-MP10 exception, it helps to have a face that fits in!).

Finally, in the scheme of scaling down collections, selling sealed MP09s makes for an attractive financial proposition.

But, dammit... if I were to keep my Hasbro version, he does need his black doppelgänger. That's the only one I had ever handled, and boy was he a beauty.
