TVShowsonDVD has a few new Shout! Factory street dates, including the delayed The Complete Japanese Transformers Collection. See detail below:

• The Complete Japanese Transformers Collection: December 6th $99.99

I wonder if the complete collection has any extra features that the normal release don't have, like the Omni dubs maybe.

Where is Animated at? Does anyone know if it is even in the works?

Hasbro has categorically said no to the Omni dubs. The only other Shout releases I have are MST3K, and they're rather light on extras, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Given the acrimony between Hasbro and Cartoon Network, any further releases (or re-releases) of Animated are unlikely.

Japanese Complete Collection (and all its tampered subtitles) will be MINE!

...even though I already own the Metrodome DVDs and the TV-Nihon fansubs. ^_^'

What Skyfire77 said. Also, this will most likely be like what the complete G1* and complete BW sets are like, being mere compiled releases of hte individual sets, bearing no more special features than what the individual sets already have.

This reminds me I have to pick up Season 1-4 of G1 and the Headmasters! Gah. Anywho can't wait for these releases!

Seriously... I can't see why everyone is fussing over the Omni dub. It's AWFUL. It's so embarrassingly awful, I'd rather listen to an audio track of the brown note in the left channel and cats in heat in the right channel.

my question is why masterforce release in december and we migh wait fo victory in april
it should be masterforce sebtember
victory december like a 1 mounth release each instead of 3 months i am not complaining but

I wouldn't go that far. Some people just prefer an uncluttered picture; lord knows I watched anime dubbed at first. The funny thing is though, now I tend to pick up more with subs.

The subs can be turned off easily.

Good thing too, seeing as how Hasbro meddled with these subtitles.

It appears Shout! Factory's The Complete Japanese Transformers Collection won't be hitting retail in early December after all. Just a few days ago TVShowsonDVD posted scans from Shout! Factory's catalog indicating the already delayed The Complete Japanese Transformers Collection would be released on December 6th. However, Shout! Factory's Brian Ward has debunked that date in this recent tweet:



Sorry folks, it looks we'll be waiting a little bit longer for this one.

It did seem a little strange that Victory and the Japanese Collection, which includes Victory, would both be released on Dec. 6th. That sucks. So many awesome characters in all 3 of these series!

Here here! The dubbed version of Headmasters and Victory(don't have Masterforce) are hilariously bad. The subbed version is far superior. Though, I'll still break out the dubs for a laugh every now and again.

Mind you, I did leave out the notion of taking a shot each time someone utters "The Power Pack!" or "Sparkle" during the show.

Ahh my beloved G1 characters Billy, Phillip, Wally, Sparkle, Jollo, Roadimus Prime, Sappo, BM, Unicorn and their trusty spaceship "Spaceship Bruce."

Did I mention the Omni dubs change all the characters names?

They need to get their gawdamn story straight. This is annoying.

I had already paid for this item, I did what was required of me to receive this set. They had my money for a month before they decided the product wasn't finished... So they returned my money. Fine. I am curious to know the status of Victory or perhaps the other Beast Wars series. Any word on whether or not these will ever see the light of US Day?

This is probally going to sound like a stupid question, but I honestly dont know so I will ask...

Is this "complete Japanese Collection" going to be dubbed over in english ??? Or English subtitles ???Or is this just an offical release of the Japanese versions.

I have the crappy downloaded versions with horrible english dubs on Headmasters and the other series with english subtitles. If this complete collection comes with english dubs, I will jump on this for sure !!!

No English dubs (thank goodness!), Japanese audio only, English subtitles only, official U.S. DVDs.

I guess Ill pass then. I just cant seem to enjoy a story when reading subtitles. I havent even watched my downloads for this reason. Reading subtitles is too much work, call me lazy.

I do have the dubbed version of Headmasters and I cringed at how the characters lost all their swag without American voice actors. No disrespect to the Japanese voice actors but they make all the characters sound the same.
