The Energon Pub

Hey folks, your friendly Vector Sigma Database admin Scotty P here, and today I've just got a quick heads up about the existing organization of Studio Series lines in the Sightings section of the site.

Since Hasbro has decided that Studio Series now means "anything we want", the break up of the line into separate sections for live-action movie characters, '86, and Gamer Edition will also be retired beginning with any new products added which are not already present in the listings. Put another way, anything currently there will stay, but all new items moving forward will be placed in the top-level "Studio Series" subsection, which until now has been used for only live-action movie characters.

This is being done for a few reasons, including (though not necessarily limited to) 1) ease of maintenance, 2) alignment with the actual official series designation for these toys that Hasbro uses, and 3) to keep there from being another subsection in the page every time Hasbro throws in a new figure from a series that doesn't match up with one of the existing categories. This third point is perhaps more of an elaboration of the first, if you'd like.

I'm not a huge fan of having G1 Red Alert sharing a space with TLK Megatron, Devastation Goldbug, and IDW Nautica either, but this is how Hasbro has decided to organize the line so we're going to follow suit. The boss-bot Seibertron says to think of it like the Marvel Legends line now. Hope this is all clear, and if it isn't, things may make more sense once I start adding the late 2026/early 2027 products into the listings.
