Did you do that with a mouse? If so A+++ for effort.
If it was with a tablet, try photoshop's quickmask, saves a boatload of time. =)

Colourwise, maybe a deeper pink? Never saw the toy till I googled for G2 mirage, but his body was a serious HOT PINK

If the original colour's in the way, once you've selected an area, desaturate it. Should be easier to use colour balance to achieve the colour you want after that =)

I suggest using a tablet as I did, expensive but worth it.

Also can try other modes of layers like multiply or overlay to experiment on the effects.

You can also play with the hue/saturation settings either for the whole picture or just the layer for more editing options. Just sharing some minor tips..

Oh crud, my bad, didn't read properly... in that case freaky's right, hue/saturation's your best friend. Wrt tablet, it's a really really good investment, but only if you're planning to do alot of graphic work. If you are, get one asap cause it takes time to get used to, especially when it comes to drawing on one.

Ehem, to answer new poster's question, look at the back of the card if its 01060 at the the bottom, it has no finger.

Japan is said to have remolded the fingers while hasbro simply cuts them off in their later version.

It all depends on luck.
