Motto: "scream drive faster"
Weapon: Electro-Laser Cannon
Are you talking about Alternator Skids? If you are, I don't think you need to remove the paint, simply put the paint you want on it. Yet, I'm used to painting unpainted figures, so I don't know too much of painting on Transformers entirely. Try the Kitbash forum.

Rubbing Alcohol will strip the paint with a little bit of elbow grease. It's fast and clean too. Be careful though, not everything that's blue is simply blue plastic, the rocker panels of the rear doors are painted for some reason.

Most people go with Ironhide or Ratchet. I suppose both look well enough in bot mode, but the alt modes just don't fit the characters. I went with Beastbox more for the the "box" pun and because it was different:

Soundwave and a copy of the Binaltech* Blaster are also popular.
