The Energon Pub

I ended up at Walmart last night and happened to finally see Battle Blades Prime. He was the only one of his kind, so I figured why not.. 17 bucks.

So my initial impression was how tiny he is. Once out of the box, he feels like a deluxe. He's barely bigger then WFC Prime and Megatron.

And as the owner of the first ROTF Prime and a Buster Prime, he lacks some serious paint apps. But we all knew this from pics. So I was aware. What I wasn't really aware of was how wonky his knees are. Someone musta scared him a good one, because he trembles at the knees.

It seems I have a somewhat long list of negatives about him. Including his skinny thighs feeling out of proportion with his body and lower legs, his legs actually feeling too long in general, his waist joints not being the most secure, his gas tanks being too simplified as weapons. Though thankfully his shoulders do click in more then most pictures portray him, getting rid of that slouched look he seems to have in most depictions.


Soooo, you might think I don't really like him because he has a list of obvious flaws, including that ugly gold plastic that Takara was wise enough to replace. But dang it to all hell, with everything I don't like, he's still charming me. I don't really know why, maybe it's the novelty of having a miniature leader prime essentially to play with. Or that he doesn't have that giant truck cab hanging off his back anymore. But for all the negative things he really has, I still kinda like the lil bugger, without being able to list hardly any positives.

Strange?

I don't see much wrong with him, aside from the size. I think he makes a wonderful collector's item for fans who don't want to spend a small fortune on leader class. Plus I really like him because I searched all over tarnation for weeks until I finally found one.
