Hey all. My name is Hunter.
So, me and my pal have always wanted to design Transformers. I just decided to do it, and i'm early designing my first add on kit/figure thing
1. So how would you get the product out there? I mean like on websites like BigBadToyStore or Tfsource?
2. How much would be enough for an initial shipment?

This list is incomplete, things may change. this is just me being optimistic.
WWR-01 - Lord Prime (For Voyager Evasion Mode Optimus, Ultra Magnus Armor.)
WWR-02 - Hellcat (Masterpiece sized Arcee)
WWR-03 - King (Classics size more G1 looking Prime.)
WWR-04 - Lazer (Classics sized P38 Megatron)

Any other suggestions?

Any ideas for the above figures?

Imho, start with high quality upgrades/accessories first. If you manage to make a decent dent in the market, then upgrade to 'bots. But since the field is already saturated, focus on upgrades first.

I already made this suggestion so I will mention this again:

If you are aware of the VF1J GBP reaction armor of the Macross Valkyrie aka original template for TF Jetfire, why not design one for the latest Legends Jetfire? Make it such that it will mimmick the G1 show Skyfire's appearance. Also, include the G1 show accurate booster pack as well. Sure it won't be able to transform with it but it will make the 'bot that much awesome.

Iirc, FP started with their equally awesome upgrade kit for what would eventually be henkei Bumble, repaint to Cliffjumper. It's okay to have BIG ideas and take risks but you must also know your target audience. Make a name for yourselves first before you expand on bigger items.

As far as getting an "in" to sell your products with online retailers, I'd either contact the sites themselves (I know that BBTS has pretty friendly customer service people, so they're good with answering questions promptly and honestly), or look for the Renderform guy; I think he lurks around here occasionally.

As far as your product pitches go, they sound cool. There's a thread in this section about upgrade kits that folks want to see done, too, if you're looking for ideas (like a kit to make the TFA Stunticons combine into a TFA Menasor, hint hint).
