I have two very beat up G1's, that I got used a long time ago in the US. One is marked Takara 74, 83 on his back cover. The other one has 74, 83 beneath the back cover.

How does the plastic/metal quality of these remakes compare to the ones I have? Is there any difference in the build or color?

I don't know all the quality differences. Though the toys r us, clssics soundwave, that comes with ravage and laserbeak, that is a different mold. The cassette bay holds 2 cassettes. So it actually comes out more, and isn't flat with the mold. As it's the soundblaster mold, not soundwave mold. Though same coloring of soundwave.

So is the Toys R Us version the only one with the double tape cassette bay? Does the 25th Anniversary one only hold one tape at a time?

Are there any knock offs of the 25th Anniversary, or are they all legit?

That looks awesome, but I really want something that goes with my old G1 cassettes. I'd love to have this too, though.

Can someone tell me how the blue and silver color of this reissue compare to the G1 colors? Is it darker or lighter?

I got the Encore Soundwave a few days ago, and its blue is a lot lighter than G1, and the face has a sloppy paint job.

The blue is somewhat darker compared to my 25 year old unit. Though mine has been out of the display case for quite sometime.

Too bad about the face paint job though, QC going down the drain................ :BANG_HEAD:
