My thoughts are pretty much spot on with yours. Are you skipping Quake? Perceptor is kinda weak, but gets better with time. And my point of contention is kinda dumb, and line wide so I'll get to it later. Topspin is a powerhouse! He's almost inflatable, and without the hollow bits which in this day in age is impressive.

And like you, Kup is the star. Not just of this Wave, but of the entire line thus far. What he does with his legs and torso is almost as good as ladder magic. Like, a mainline deluxe version of ladder magic. It gives me tingles thinking about what they could accomplish with an MP. I mean, look at his side profile, he comes together so tightly that he has ZERO kibble. How else is that accomplished besides magic??

Whats hard for me is that I dont have any version of that character and he would be the only autobot triple changer I would be missing so it means that I wouldnt be able to do a shot of the 3 decepticon triple changers vs the 3 autobot triple changer. Plus I could get him for $11.25 USD so its super hard to pass up. Aaargh

Well, I was headed out of town on Wed. for family/holiday toimes, I ran to Target for a couple of things, and they had just unpacked a case. I picked him up, came home, and had to leave. Just got back yesterday, and opened him last night. Initial reaction, bot mode is cool and hulking, alt modes are alright. I don't hate the jet. After thirty+ years with these toys I've seen some really silly things. His jet mode is just another one of those. I also find joy in, silly, dumb, and stupid. It's not that sweet, but it didn't ruin my Easter. I need a little more play time with him to soak up his mojo, but over all just kinda meh. He feels rushed? After thoughty? He has so many new parts, I'm not seeing the reasons to reuse the Trion parts other than they already formed the front of a carrier. Which feels like a weak reason.
I feel like the current design team is just experimenting in C.A.D. on how to recycle parts and appease the exec's budget demands. I will hand it to them, some things have worked well, others, not so much. It's interesting to see the design process evolve, good and bad.

I will play with him some more, and see how I feel about him. His head sculpt is really cool, and I have a feeling I might be able to pop those tail fins out and turn them around. Haven't tried it yet.

I don't know about y'all, but I LOVE that! Especially on future space vehicles.

I hear ya. I wasn't sold on him either, and think the mold choice was odd. They did a ton of retooling, and I appreciate the effort but the payoff isn't spectacular. However, he grows on you. The bot mode is pretty sweet, and I actually think the carrier is super dope. And the jet... well its workable....

I did it! With it you can make a half decent jet, but it makes his legs in bot mode a lil awkward. Totally worth it to me though!

I wonder, if you swapped the fins to the opposite legs, would they fold in in the other direction when legs?
Might help them be more discreet in bot mode.

Yeah but then its still money I could spend on another toy. And space I could allocate to another one. I seriously dont know where I will be putting my toys next year. I might still get him, we will see. The lat time I bought a voyager just because it was cheap was Cyclonus and I absolutely loved him.
