Starscream G1 question

Postby Justicity » Thu Aug 02, 2007 12:50 am

Right, that's it. I give up. For aaaaaaaages, I've been trying to figure out how G1 Starscream transforms. Looking through countless photos, trying (but to no avail) to find instruction scans, all of it, boils down to me now giving up & asking for help on the forum.

I've worked out most of it, after being told lots of parts just detach & are reattached some time later, but one thing still eludes me. The cockpit & cone... how the hell does that work??? the cockpit folds down while the seemingly attached cone somehow moves down to the other end of the cockpit & folds down in the other direction... I concluded that it must detach, but if it did why use that as the head? why not just have the cone attach on the back & have a flip up tab or something? So that can't be right...

If anyone can explain in detail how he transforms, or has a scan of the instructions, please, please let me know. This is the ONLY transformer to ever confuse me...

Hah, I know how you feel, I remember Thrust being so cool and complex when I was a kid, but now the seekers seem so easy.

I'm glad we have classics now, I was always disappointed by having to remove parts and the general lack of articulation.

Motto: "Collecting little transforming action figures is the right of all sentient Geeks."

I really like that transformation. so he lacks real articulation. He's still one of the best looking mold out their in jet mode.

I think its a pretty good design, to have the nose rotate through the chest hole, so the cockpit sits in between the intakes, and the nose rotates up on the back of the figure.

You really should find yourself a G1 Starscream or Thundercracker or Skywarp to really appreciate the transformation process.

Maybe Takara's new Encore Line can help you there.

It's a cool design, for sure, it just could've been better. But that's what classics are for. 8)
