Counterpunch wrote:I don't think that the color scheme will be different or more "bling". Here's why.

First, the pic to the side shows Razorclaw's lion face to be normal color.

Second, it would have to be painted plastic as those parts are part of the gang molded yellow portions of Razorclaw.

Third, the yellow on Headstron also appears to be gold, making me think it's a lighting issue.

Still, it's a 2010 Campaign piece, so something has to be special about it, something that the previous reissue didn't have. New head is plausible, but what I'd like to see is a new sword of an adequate size. The smaller swords look more like knives :P
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I apologize for doubting, God Bless Takara reissues are back with the PREDAKING!

Postby micah1199 » Thu Jul 15, 2010 7:51 am

Dear forum,

I apologize for doubting the veractiy of some of the reissue claims due to my sadness at the end of encore, but I feel reinvigorated now that I know we are getting a new reissued redecoed predaking. GOD BLESS TAKARA AND G ONE REISUES! I will now have a complete vitage misb predaking. A loose reissue predaking, a misb reissue predaking and now this one. I will have 4 predakings. I can't get enough of him.

While cheaper than the MISB examples of the G1 and earlier reissues, this is too rich for my blood. As much as I have wanted one of these since it was first released (Sky Lynx will continue without his nemesis) the rest of this year's great releases are kicking my a$$. :BANG_HEAD: Looks amazing

I hope the colors are a bit different, I'm really digging the chrome/metallic look. This might be my first Predaking ever!

I have the first reissue already and opened up. After seeing a MISB Reissue Predaking goes above $300 on Ebay, I'm thinking to purchase one for an investment later on. But, if it has that shiny paint like TF Animated, or any modification e.g. head, then I'll pass this set.

:KREMZEEK: :shock: =P~ Beautiful. I'm not getting Primus, Unicron or The Seacons, but THIS I CANNOT PASS ON. I really hope it is the Die-Cast version for $180, but even if it's full plastic i'll still sell a kidney to get it(are they worth more when they're weighed down with kidneystones?) if I have to. This is awesome news. And I do believe the paint job is different & not just lighting. From what I can zoom in on, the head looks pretty much standard. But i've always wanted a Predaking & never been able to find one in acceptable condition(C8+) for a decent price so this is awesome news. Can you tell i'm ecstatically happy? :x 8-}

I take it back, Razorclaw's lion head is definitely gold when you see the pics of it in the other 2010 Campaign thread.

Yea...I'm going to go ahead and say that it doesn't look as good as the original.

So, so cynical...:)

I will probably pull the trigger on it, if this does indeed to be a somewhat to incredibly changed set.

Your opinion is wrong. I really think he looks good enough to replace my previous reissue with. At least from what I can tell. We'll see. I do like how he appears though.

:-(

I don't understand why I'm getting grief on this one.

The gold lion head would be less accurate than the yellow, hence my assertion that it would not be superior to previous verisons.

I'd cry myself to sleep if I hadn't had so much coffee this morning.

It's how we roll and you know this, man. I dunno, Predaking was never a big pull with me as a kid. So having him be more accurate doesn't really mean much to me. I stickered the reissue all up and God knows, you never see half that crap on him. In the comics or otherwise. I just think this new one looks really nice and it looks like it'll be a tough call for me on which I end up with. Like I said, we'll see. The pictures all seem a touch off.

Although I'm happy to see them reissuing Piranacon (Japanese exclusive style with 6 figures) I really wish Takara would STOP reissuing the same reissues they reissued a few years back :D .

Takara, since were talking combiners, can you guys move on to the Japanese exclusives like Road Ceaser, Dino King, Raiden & Lio Kaiser?

They have reissued a good number of G1 figures over the years but there are a few missed opportunities Takara passed on; Metrotitan, Targetmaster Artfire & Great Shot.

Amen brotha, Truer words have never been spoken (typed?). I completely agree with this.

I sold my original one yeeeeaaaars ago to the point I almost cried. Him and my dinos. The whole "Have to pay rent" scenario. Missed out on the reissue a few years back. The paint apps and look of this one is amazing.

Soooo...figured I'd throw this out there early. Anyone interested in picking up an extra of these and wanna broker a trade for 2 Botcon 2010 Sharkticons and 2 Botcon 2009 Sweeps. Even swap. LMK.

I really want Predaking, since I don't have any of the Predacons.

But $180 is an awful lot. Brave Maximus was no where near as expensive.

A big maybe for me. Very pricey, but he'd be a nice addition to my Decepticon forces. The Autobots are winning the arms race in my collection.

Like a lot of people I got the re-issue predaking 5 years ago. Personally I'm a bit peeved that this wasn't the version we got and it's being re-issued so soon. But seeing as how that re-issue is going for $300 on eBay I can see why it's being put out.
