We recently reported that we'd be getting two new Takara Animated two packs, featuring the likes of figures that Hasbro would not likely release. The two packs were named to have Clear Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime, as well as a Cybertron Mode Megatron and Optimus Prime. Valued site sponsor TFsource confirms that we will be getting these two packs, unfortunately they will be less epic than first anticipated. Much like Hasbro's Voyager Purple Shockwave and Sunstorm, Deluxe figures Clear Rodimus Prime and Cybertron Mode Megatron will simply be packaged with an Activators figure - being Optimus Prime. Kind of lame that it's just the Activators Prime. Still crystal Rodimus should be cool.

...clear? That's... odd. I'd rather see a G1 repaint of Prowl, but I guess Japan loves their clear figures...

Ugh, that Rodimus had such potential, pardon the pun, and it just crashed and burned. The Vehicle mode is freakin awesome, but the monkey face, the oversized chest and gangly skinny legs just wreck it, not to mention the ridiculous sized weapon.

You know, it's Animated we're talking about here. Chins and silly proportions abound. Did I mention the chins?

And what's the deco on Cybertron Mode Megs here? No damage or silver colored?

Very true, but most of animated looked proportionaly like the animation. In the show, Rodimus was lean and serious looking,

But not box chested and gorilla-ish. The alt mode has such nice smooth lines and looks great, the bot mode just needs a little refinement.

Agreed but being a hot rod fan i will probably pick it up.
