Clamp Down is a preexisting character, guys. He and his brother Deep Cover were e-HOBBY exclusives and members of the Interplanetary Personnel Exchange Program. The two have been Autobots since 2003, which was over a decade ago.

It wouldn't make sense to suddenly change them into Decepticons.

Just to clarify, I know that Clampdown is a Lamborghini Countach. I meant that I already have 5 of the Nissan Fairlady mold (Prowl etc) so I might as well get multiples of this one too. Thought I would make it clear that I am not an idiot........

I was hoping they would do this! Didn't think it would be so soon.
The only Lambor I had as a kid was this Diaclone that I picked up at a comic shop in the 80's. He wasn't even called Clampdown yet.

Look close and you can see how well "loved" he is.

Needless to say this is a must have for me! :KREMZEEK:

Well I don't mind the ehobby/diaclone autobots getting released as long as Detritus from the Hound mould is marketed as a Decepticon I'm happy.

Yup, Starscream and Thundercracker were the only two featured in the Diaclone line. Skywarp and the rest were all created by Hasbro and Sunbow (thanks to the role of generic).

Wow I never knew that! That's pretty interesting!

Just a side note, I do think the Japanese version of Starscream, with the smooth voice, does make more sense, but my nostalgia clouds me, and I like the U.S. version better. Also the name "StarSCREAM" seems to fit a raspy, whiny bot better I guess.

Yeah, I have Sideswipe and it seems odd that his "brother" Sunstreaker is not beside him on my shelf - Yet. Sunstreaker is a slightly different design but you'd think Takara would be able to bang one out quickly rather then make us wait.

I have the eHobby release, so I had to preorder him.

I do wonder, though.... if he's being released in December, is he the reason Tracks and Road Rage were pushed back?

Nope. If he came out earlier you might be able to theorize that, but I'm sure none of the redeco guys (Red BB, Thundercracker, Clampdown) had anything to do with their delay.

I managed to order mine from TakaraTomy Mall last night with no issues. He sold out in roughly 9 to 10 hours from their site. Which is a little slower than Bluestreak but they had a limit of 3 per order rather than 10 with Bluestreak.

It was a real release. I believe for the 2013 Tokyo Toy Show.
It has been knocked off too I believe, but I bet that one is the real McCoy.

Edit: OR would be real if it were in stock. :lol:
