This is the first I've heard of it. Man, how come I only get to hear about cool stuff when everyone else does?

Still, it'll be tough. I remember I practically had to wrestle with people to get an MP Soundwave when those turned up in 2013. I can only imagine the throngs that will be pressing to get their hands on an MP Shockwave...
I find that hard to believe, some of the Star Wars nerf stuff that just hit shelves is closer looking to actual gun models than Classics Megatron or any version of Shockwave. That said, I also could believe it, because toy regulations are insanely arbitrary in scope and definition.william-james88 wrote:There is the added factor that a gun alt mode is harder than ever to sell in the states. Supposedly, Classics Megatron would not be able to get distribution if he was issued today.

Classics Megatron, released in 2006, turns into a Nerf N-Strike Maverick blaster with a bright orange cap on the end of both the scope and the barrel. With Hasbro's ever-more-conservative legal department, even this deco wouldn't be sufficient these days.
Hasbro may go the conservative route internally, or it may be due to stricter local regs in some larger markets which I'm not familiar with. The Federal rule is here. Not fun reading, and I won't armchair attorney it, but I can see Classics Megs being ok with the Feds at least.william-james88 wrote:I was just going by the wiki, they might be wrong:Classics Megatron, released in 2006, turns into a Nerf N-Strike Maverick blaster with a bright orange cap on the end of both the scope and the barrel. (Shockwave preordered too just in case.)

For those in the US, is BBTS generally the most inexpensive route? How does it compare to Amiami?

Other way around: the cartoon and comics were faithful to the toy's transformation. Remember, in the first two years, toy molds first, cartoon and comics later. In Shockwave's case, google "Astro Magnum"
And it's completely logical Laserwave will be best the Masterpiece in existence.
