Umm, this isn't G1 Prime. This is AoE Prime. Different character.
And even if it was G1 Prime, who honestly cares? It's a tiny detail, and if you ask me it's about time Prime got a little reinvention.
Oh, I know that full well. The mold, however, is very clearly meant to homage G1 Optimus Prime. Although a flatnosed truck version of Prime exists in the movie, it's all rusted out and colored with dull browns and grays. So, none of the toy releases of this mold are even close to "screen accurate." Hasbro rolled with the G1 homage pretty well, but made a few mistakes and omitted some paint apps. Takara added in some nice paint apps, but switched some colors around, managing to pull the homage away from G1. In exchange, they seem to be trying to homage original movie-verse prime a bit. I'm just saying, there's no win for someone who wanted a spot on G1 deco on this Prime, though it's obvious that's what Hasbro tried.
Meh. If you wanted a spot-on G1 deco, then I'd say get classics/Masterpiece prime, or just paint the hands and feet blue.
I think he looks better with silver hands and feet myself. It sets him apart from other Primes and makes him look like more than just G1 Prime run through a Bayification filter.
Also, I'm pretty sure the whole point of a homage is it's supposed to be somewhat subtle, a nod to the older material, rather than a blatant "HEY LOOK IT'S G1 PRIME WITH MORE GREEBLES". It's the difference between an original idea and a rehash of an older idea.
@Valandar: I have the Payload mold, aside from the long stem sticking from his back (which I'm willing to forgive because GIANT CLAW) he's one of my favourite Movieverse toys. Very poseable, cool vehicle mode, probably the best headsculpt out of the "camera faces"... I certainly don't have many troubles balancing him, and the easily detachable parts can be fixed with a dab of glue. Not sure why you hate Payload so much.
Regardless, if I see him, Dispensor is mine.
