Well he looks better than his original toy but that's not saying much. Sorry, just always found G1 Ironhide to be one of the blandest and dullest looking characters. Just a bunch of blocks. Looks good for those who like the character though.

I don't think the panels are front the G1 toon they are comic refrenced!

However, the panels do appear white, grey or red in images

Unless the alt mode is licensed, I'm not liking it. All the cars have been officially licensed and there's no reason Ironhide shouldn't be either. I've seen better from the 3P than I'm seeing here.

To me, what separates Takara from the better 3P companies is their ability to get officially licensed alt modes. I was holding out on Jazz for this very reason but if Takara is going to abandon this very important aspect of MP, then I'm just going to take the fast train on 3P.

Maybe this is a moonbeam idea, but I say this mold needs to be in Diaclone colors, but bring the red stripe up to a spoiler on the back and have the bot mode head sporting a beard, mohawk and gold chains.

I pity the fool that don't think this is a good idea.

Yeah he looks like a 3rd party MP! He's big! When you look at the comparison with his vehicle mode, and Optimus's cab mode, Op is only a bit bigger!

I would love to see an official Transformers line of famous cars. Money be damned!

A Batmobile that transforms into Batman (duh).
The Mach Five from Speed Racer that transforms into a bot that looks like Go Mifune with his helmet on.
Kitt from Knight Rider that transforms into a bot with Hasselhoff 80's hair.
Ecto-1 with four alternate faces for each member of the Ghost Busters.
Herbie from the Love Bug that transforms into a bot with a Buddy Hackett face.

I'm sure I could get deeper into the weeds with this one, but I'll stop there.

OMG YOU ARE HILARIOUS! XD 3rd parties, make a Masterpiece style Batmobile and everything else he listed. (It'll probably come to pass since everything I've been saying has been coming to pass and freaking me out. :shock:

I kinda thought Ironhide and Ratchet would be released closer to Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen, with them all being Nissans, but I guess their deal has a long lifespan

I'm down, so long as his size (and wealth of accessories) doesn't push him into too high a price bracket. He's not my favourite character (I think the grumpy cowpoke archetype carries more weight for Americans) but he's a key character and looks the part enough for me.

I wonder if HasTak are still having trouble getting licensing from Porsche to do Jazz. I know that Porsche kicked up a stink during Alternators, but so did Volkswagen and oddly enough a multi-billion dollar film franchise seems to have made them turn around somewhat. Or maybe the Martini branding on the G1 toy, together with the whole Exhaust mess is making HasTak cautious.

Assuming Ironhide gets retooled as Ratchet the only remaining 1984 Autobots (not including mini-vehicles) are Hound, Jazz, Mirage, Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker.
